Hey,
Was watching "The Super Rich and Us" on BBC 2 a few moments ago & writ a few things down which I thought were interesting.
I always get a really horrible feeling when trying to talk politics, and don't think I'd survive trying to fully write or record a political song.
So not really looking for a collab on these just thought I'd put them here in case anyone sees anything worth a plunder - feel free if you do no need for permission or 'credit' ;D
Hunger Games is the new Space Oddisy
Not predicting tech but the raising equality
It already feels like fight to the death
With no rules and no ref to get my hands a property
Skylines changing, social cleansing
The city's amazing, but not for the plenty
Trickle down lies but nobody's sorry
When they butcher the economy middle class empty
Can't afford to speculate
No way to accumulate
Nobody will regulate
As food is taken from our plates
Trickle up, double rent
Trickle up, double rent
Have I paid your mortgage yeet?

Scott,
I'm liking it, feels like spoken words put to musical backdrop to me.

One question...
Hunger Games is the new Space Oddisy
Not predicting tech but the raising equality
I don't know if I'm misunderstanding the meaning of these two lines, but I think "raising" should be "rising". ?? "Raising" means, like, raising kids, or raising (growing) a garden, that type of thing. "Rising" means getting higher or more, which is how I'm interpreting your lyric. If I'm misunderstanding it, never mind.
That's all I have. Interesting lyric and I hope to hear a finished product eventually, so I hope someone grabs this and runs with it. I don't really read it as political so much as social (or maybe cultural?) commentary. Of course, I can see that politics is involved in the scenario. So, I suppose I could call it bad politics enabled by social/cultural ignorance.
