Whatever pops into my head.
I guess my most-common topic these days is my life and my family, whether in the abstract or more-concretely.

Thematically, I am also pretty obsessed with the passage of time.

Pretty similar to Todd really - whatever's happening in my life or that of those around me. But my themes tend to be religion and politics. Can't seem to leave em alone!

Anything really, whatever the music suggests.  Just recently
 I was thinking of writing a song about a toilet...called Sweet Loo  ;D ;D
It wasn't that the music was crap  ;D  But it did occur to me that it
would be a good subject for lyrics.  Also, a subject that would have
 mass appeal  ;D ;D

In my younger days i question everything and sometimes without even using words and then i started writing, at first just to start remembering and then i started writing lyrics and songs.

Absolutely anything.  Could be a phrase I heard, an ideal, an obsession,  a love, a hate, a piece of plastic

Mainly the life experiences that's cause great hurt and sadness but occasionally, I  manage to step outside of this.  I've written songs about Elvis Presley, The Beatles, a former Zigfield Folly, my love of music and popular films. I've even written 3 Bond themes simply because I love  the genre. Inspiring ideas don't have to be difficult to find.

I try (for the most part) to provide an uncommon perspective for a common event.  The "same old thing" but from a uniquely different angle or viewpoint.

That's what I TRY to accomplish with each song.

In general, we write about big themes usually involving the misdirection of humanity weaving in a few niche stories along the way.

Eg Paddy Mayne  - War
Race for Space - Technology
Sea of Tranquility - Loneliness

IN general we try to avoid too personal or introspective songs - and love in general. Not because of any aversion to it - its just we dont feel our personal stories are interesting enough to get the attention of others.

Having said that, we occasionally write songs based on more personal experiences. Operation Mental Health is one such WIP.
