Thanks to everyone who voted in the June Song of the Month Comp (19 of us).
It was a hard fought campaign with all contenders doing well on the battlefield, but in the end only one song can claim the June throne. So top three in reverse order...

Thanks to all contenders for giving us such great, atmospheric tracks to choose from and congratulations especially to Lost Boy for such a beautifully sung and moving piece.
By a recently-introduced tradition Lost Boy this means you host July SOTM if you are up for it - OK?

Ah man!!! Thanks sooo much to everyone who voted for my track! ;D I'm sooo happy that people seem to like this one, as it really did just lie around for over a year unfinished in the pile. I'm really pleased I got my ass in gear and finished it. :D
All of the songs were fab in this comp and I'm just really happy and humbled to be a part of it all.
Thanks again guys and cheers to the organisers for a great comp.

It is a very good song and deserved to win the big prize.
I also voted for Del's 2nd 'cos this was very good too and appealed to me a lot.

Thanks Pauly for the nod.....I'm shocked I made the podium.
My favorite was Delboys song......but, all the songs were excellent.......again, surprised to have even made the list; and, to have made the podium was completely unexpected.

I'm really sorry everyone, but the next couple of months are a bit bonkers for me and I just know I won't have the time that is needed to put on a worthy SOTM. :(

How about you host September's comp then and whoever wins August can host this one in your place?
Failing that and if nobody else feels that it is about time they hosted it.....I will do it although I am also very busy in the summer...can't promise to review everything but I will listen to them all...that is unless anybody else feels that it is really about time they did it.
I don't think there is a rule that the winner hosts the following month and I don't think there should be...not always going to be convenient.

I may very well be able to do it this month...don't have lots of time but sure I can spare enough! I feel I owe to the forum already with all the help I get here :P I could use a few pointers though as never hosted before
I.e when do I run it from? Surely once July is over?
What song do I nominate from...just those posted in July?
What time scale to give for replies?
That should cover me :P

Sorry for the late response...Darren or Viscount,if u can help this month that would be great. I can certainly have a go in September. Il need some pointers also please. ;D
Once again, I'm sorry I can't help this month or next. Had I known that the winner would have to host this month I would have retracted my entry (just in case, I was lucky enough to win, not because I thought I had it in the bag!! :o ;) )
I do understand that the forum is a team effort and I appreciate these comps and the peeps who run them.

Hey Darren, good of you to offer, but you weren't one of those I was thinking about stepping in so, as I did volunteer first, I will now officially state that, unless there are any objections, I will host the July SOTM.
So anyone who's already posted this month thinking about posting anything else before August bear in mind that you will be p*ssing me off. :)
Roll on the one song per month ruling!
