Title: Hello!
Post by: DAKnox on February 22, 2017, 04:53:25 PM
Hi,

Just registered. The reason being I am planning on recording an instrumental album. A concept album maybe. Prog type stuff.

It will be my first attempt at this type of thing.  I've got no ambitions to sell it or anything like like that I just want to have fun doing it.

I've played in bands for years but this is just something I fancy doing.

So is this a good place for feedback, advice, chat etc?

Thanks! A few years ago I downloaded LMMS (because it was free and I just wanted to dip my toes in).  I got really familiar with it and made some ambient stuff.

I found that LMMS couldn't record real instruments (such as my guitar) just virtual instruments.

So now I have downloaded Podium (again because the free version is easy to download) feels very different to LMMS.  But I think it could be a good switch for this. I think I can record my guitar intomy PC. Also with LMMS it would crash if you tried to load in big SF2s. I just tested it with a Zebra synth and LMMS crashed but Podium loaded it no bother. So I think I could be making that switch for this project.
