You'll Find A Way
Written, Performed and Produced by Adam Harkus
If there's nothing left in all the universe
Nothing left to save
Thinking why through all the years gone by
You turned the other way
Who knows where you'll go or where you'll stay
Dreaming of a place that's miles away
You'll find a way
Are you looking back at all the things you had
There's nothing you could do
It's not too late for all the plans you made
Where all your dreams come true
Who knows where you'll go or where you'll stay
Dreaming of a world so far away
You'll find a way

This has become one of my favorites for the competition. Its really great The lyrics are solid and the guitar work is perfect. Very easy to listen to, and more importantly enjoyable.
-
I loved this. Haven't taken the time to listen to all the entries yet, but I doubt that anyone has submitted anything that outclasses it. I thought it was beautiful and listenable.

Thanks for your kind words. It's a very simple song, with a very simple message about someone who has given up on the future because of past events.

Adam,
Hi lovely guitar and sweet melody in unison.
All supporting the lyrics. Well sung.
Restrained and finishes leaving you wanting more, always a good sign imho.
Good tune
:)

Thanks Neil, i resisted the middle section and acoustic break.... for now :)

Very pretty stuff, nice and restrained. Got the feel of one of those, end of album songs which doesn't over sell itself. Just does what it does in a stylish easy going sorta way.
Lovely little song :)
Tom.

Lovely little song :)

Thanks Tom.
The vocals really don't do much, it's the guitar that provides the movement. Having said that, the simplicity of the melody and the shortness of the song sort of forced me into putting more 'into' the vocal performance, rather than just rambling through it.
Really glad it's gone down well. Thank you again.

A very pleasant listen, kinda harks back to the old Richard Thomson Fairport Convention days.
Easy on the ears and refreshingly brief. I wish I could school myself a little more brevity in my own work. :D
-
This is really lovely Adam :) The vocal/guitar duet is so beautiful, and I think it's just the right length :)
Sweet lyrics as well :)
An excellent 'bare bones' entry :)
-
Lovely acoustic sound and picking Adam. Great melody and vocals and it's got that "heart tug" factor as well. Very good stuff

Thanks. I never seem to be able to get as far as the 3rd verse these days in fear of boring people.

This is a really nice song.

so good ...lovely vocals & gorgeous guitar...the lyrics were nice but a bit light & cliched...but im sure its what most people love to hear so why waste time giving them what they cant appreciate :)
you have a very charming voice that is very pleasant on the ear
the song length was perfect ... it was like eating a tiny slice of yummy cake that was nowhere big enough ...I felt a irresistible urge to have another bit
your website/ blog looks realy smart with lots of interesting things there :)

I wasn't expecting all the nice comments so far. It's a restrained, rather basic song and not really one of my favourites but I felt it fitted in well with the brief.
Thanks for visiting the blog, I hope to post more Harson Robkus Material soon.
Regards

enjoyed this very much
simplicity of it
quality sound

beautiful vocal and simple message
can imagine over a movie backdrop

Thank you and Nooms
Richard Marx? I'll definitely settle for that :)

This is great Adam, the first of yours Ive listened to I think...both the guitar and voice work superbly together and I like the nice little touches in the production especially on the second guitar. Lovely harmonies at the end as well.
Good luck in the comp!

Beautiful performance. Nice, straight forward song. I enjoyed it.

Thanks very much guys glad you enjoyed it :)

Well, not much to say really, top notch in every department. Vocal performance is great as are the guitars and a solid song it is. My only (small) complaint would be regarding dynamics/variation, the song rolls along pretty much the same all the way through when it comes to dynamics and even though there is a second guitar playing some figures here and there (as well as BV coming in later on) that finger picked guitar is still predominant throughout and I think the song would benifit from some changes there. Maybe drop it completely for a verse halfway through? Or change the picking pattern or switch to strumming for some part?
Just my personal opinion of course, keep or sweep.

Thanks Jambrains
I hear you, and really appreciate what you did with your entry: The Harder We Hit (The More It Will Hurt)
Regarding lack of a change-up, It's a trap I regularly fall into, but once I'd finished it I took the decision to just leave it be, it didn't seem right to pull it apart somehow.
Lesson learned for the future though.

Just starting on the long journey of listening to all the Bare Bones song. The bar has been set very high from the off! Great vocals, lovely guitar, really nice tune, well produced, well played. Yep, the rest of the field have some catching up to do already :-) Lovely length, too! I always say that a song can support a certain length and you always know if you feel short changed or bored the length is wrong. This is spot on. Well done.
-
Thanks, I've listened to a few and the standard is really high, great to be part of it!

Hi Adam

Very beautiful. I love the guitar tone and playing, and the soft vocals complement that perfectly.
Congratulations, this is a really really good one!

Igg + Wolfini,
Thanks for your time :)

There are so many good songs in the competition, and this is one of my favorites. One way I judge my favorites is by whether or not I would like to add them to my personal play list (which I am building with a plan to have a public show eventually).
This is one I would love to sing. It has a really nice and clear melody and I like the words. I don't have any nits for you.

I'd gladly send you the backing to do some collaboration with it as I'd love to hear what it sounds like with your vocals.
Just let me know :)

Ooo, I would love to. PM on the way...

Lovely song Adam. Says its piece and then gets off the stage - making me want to hit play again.
I liked the guitar work and vocals and the hook is perfectly positioned and resolves everything beautifully. One of my favs in the contest - good luick!
