I have a number of songs similar to this, my story-telling-style I call it.
Totally from the heart, not commercial, but my strategy is if you can't sing good then say something interesting.

This wasn't what I was expecting! I enjoyed it though.
It kind of feels like maybe a candidate for a "hidden/secret track" on an album.
Very personal, and stylistically different from all the rest.

I also enjoyed this quite a bit!
Personally, I would prefer a little more variety in the guitar playing, but that might detract from the story, and others may prefer it as is.
Do you have this all scripted, or do you only have the basic story in mind?
Reminds me a little of the story-telling portions of "Alice's Restaurant".

This is class... as well as the cleverness of the writing, this takes me back to my youth and it certainly is 'funny what we remember'
Great stuff Paul, give us more...

This really made me smile. It was really touching. I especially liked the bit quite near the end where the chords change and you say it's funny what you remember. The whole thing was paced very well and the narrative flowed. Really enjoyed that. Thanks for posting.

Respect respect respect. Love everything about this song. Loved the Religious references . Blimey did we really have to go through that ??? Forever scarred I think. Great jcc vibe as well. It's great to be different man and you are :)
