Title: Looking for no fee publisher
Post by: Embers on November 16, 2013, 05:45:22 PM
Hi I recently googled and found a no fee online publisher , I think based in California , but I cannot despite loads of searches , find it again.  If anyone know any good online service who sell on music for a split of proceeds rather than fee if y can please let me know

Thanks
Pete

Surely the ONLY Publishers we'd want to work with would be those who take a cut downstream if a song sells? If you're having to pay a publisher up front to take your song then the incentive for them is just to build up a huge library?

A big +1 to what ONELABEL has said

A reputable publisher will work on a split of the proceeds from the song

Alarm bells would be ringing if a publisher was asking for a fee!!!!

Are you sure you don't mean a song "plugger" or a pitching service that will help you pitch your songs?

There are lots of these around that charge a fee (ie Audio Rokit, TAXI, SongLink etc.)

I am not sure how you could do a "split" deal with these though without losing a % of your publisher rights, which may make you less attractive to the actual publisher!
