Title: The Robin's Tale
Post by: Jackdaw on May 26, 2017, 03:41:01 PM
I have pierced my chest on a crown of thorn
As I perched upon His cross
My breast was singed by Fires of Hell
As I flew waters to the Lost.

The Postmen and Christmas cards
The Books and Poetry
Through your Winters and your Summertimes
I sing past and presently.

This is the real me
The real me.

Fly me
Fly me away through all the windchimes of your mind
I am the bird Red Robin
I soar the Wings of Time.

I herald Death flying through your door
To set your Spirit free
When I sit upon your garden spade
You smile as you spy me.

The Omens and your Folklore
Babes in Wood and Mystery
Through your Winters and your Summertimes
I sing past and presently.

This is the real me
The real me.

Fly me
Fly me away through all the windchimes of your mind
I am the bird Red Robin
I soar the Wings of Time.

Jackdaw,

The words seem very good to me. Also very true to my situation as, at the sad occasion of my late daughter's funeral, a Robin flew around us. Within  a short time, a Robin arrived in our garden and one has been resident ever since. It often flits and flies above us, and at the moment has another youngster with it, and they could almost settle on my hand. I take great comfort from this. A young girl serving in our music shop gave me a framed picture of 2 Robins because she remembered me telling her about the connection with my daughter. It was a lovely thing to do and so, Robins do hold a special place for me in my heart.

Thankyou for writing your words about the Robin

Marrianna (x in memory of my daughter R.I.P. loved so much)
