I like the concept of the lyric but something to consider if it hasn't already been mentioned is that the lyric jumps between present and past tense. Examples being 'dancing around each other like we're satn's', 'two eyes are searching' are present tense, 'coz I saw you', 'undid the hard hat' are past tense, I would change it so that it's all present tense which makes it more interesting for the listener as it would be a current ongoing situation.
For the chorus an idea for the present tense could be something like:-
Should I undo the hard hat
Put down the baseball bat
And if I was to ever fall flat
Would you be my crash matt
