I know I mentioned on here when Taylor died that i shed a little tear as he was without doubt my favourite drummer and one of my favourite rock musicians overall.
So I wasn't going to miss the tribute gig at Wembley. It was amazing, emotional and uplifting at the same time with performances by Liam Gallagher, Nile Rogers with Josh Homme and then Justin Hawkins doing a couple of Bowie songs, CoatTail Riders, Chevy Metal (with Kesha), Supergrass, Them Crooked Vultures (Josh Homme, Dave Grohl and John Paul Jones!), Mark Ronson, Wolfgang Van Halen, James Gang, The Pretenders, AC/DC (with Lars from Metallica on joining) Rush, Stewart Copeland, Queen with vocals from Luke Spiller of the Struts (amazing), Justin Hawkins, Sam Ryder with Brian singing Love of my life solo on a 12 string to close), Paul McCartney and of course the Foo Fighters. There were loads of other performers playing with these guys, a lot of drummers of course and tributes and stories galore.
A day I will never forget.
