Hi all

Been too long.

I'd lost a lot of motivation to write recently, but listened to the great entries for the Hallowe'en comp and thought, maybe the juices might flow. It's been rushed together somewhat over the past weekend, Katja has a cold, my fingers no longer want to play guitar, and my ears play tricks on me. Enough excuses, here's our not so spooky entry - warts and all.

Thanks for taking the time to listen and any comments.

Happy Hallowe'en.

Digger & Katja

Aloha From Hell

Hey, little children
What do ya know?
Don’t listen to the preacher
On the tv show
Heaven’s got nothing
That just won’t wait
Come follow me
Down to Lucifer’s gate

Chorus:
Down Down Down Down
Cradle to grave
I’ll give you pleasure
You can call it pain
Send a little postcard
«I’m so happy»
Aloha from Hell

Hey, Bible lovers
What do you see?
Pretty little baubles
Such misery
God loves a sinner
Take it from
Come join the party
In Purgatory

Chorus:

Hi Digger and Katja,

"I'm so happy", made my day, very impressive.

You can't tell Katja has a cold, up to her usual standard.

Great song. I disagree about how spooky it is. All good horror is coated in a little sugar, otherwise no one would be tempted.

Great atmospheric piece you two...love the sounds on this and the lyrics make it quite creepy indeed. Really good melodies here as well...superbly produced as always.

This is one that belongs as an intro to one of the Coast to Coast radio shows, aired nightly.
Strong writing and performing.
Forget Spooky :-\......this is terrifying!! :o

This is great stuff Digger and Katja. Love the Depeche Mode / Joy Division vibe. It's the sort of song that sucks you in and your hypnotised by it. This really held my attention all of the way through.

Cheers

love the atmospheric sounds at the start ...its like im standing alone on a dark platform waiting for the train to hades....
katja sounds so sweet its like we might be going to legoland not hell after all ! :)
this is very siouxsie which is fab with me ..its gothically great ...i loved all the synthy bits they were melodic  they were creepy  they were brilliantly done & I hardly heard any guitar...
with that title I did wonder if we might be getting some hawaian guitar!
anyway its frighteningly good & I honestly dont know why you arent selling records..
there are so many creepy people around these days whod love this!  ;D
no seriously  :)
Tell me Im wonderful & I ll be nice to you :)

I like this a lot. Got a slightly 'Garbage' feel to it which I love. I'm possibly a bit biased being a fan of your work and with a voice like that I could listen to Katja read the shipping forecast and I'd be in raptures! But bias has nothing to do with it, this is a bloody good entry. The lyric makes me imagine that as little kids get excited about the spirit world at Halloween, having fun scaring each other there is something a whole lot more sinister going on...  Just my take on it.

Nice break down section around 2:30 giving impact to the last verse. Great orchestration. I love the rising, sinister violin under the 'Down...down...down' lyric at the end.
They're, there, their  ...  They're all different!

Dont be so modest, this is great!

Thoughtful lyrics and the halfspoken vocals suit them nicely. I once wrote a song "package trip to gomorrah" so I can relate. :-)

Cheerful synth sounds. Underlines the happy message.

Cool stuff, bye Wolfi

Digger, I liiike this.

It's got theme music to a tv series written all over it for me, especially with current popularity of the horror/zombie genre.

As a standalone song I think I'd like to hear it move up a gear and perhaps get a little heavier/darker/chaotic as it progresses.

But other than that I liked everything about it.

Well done.

Yup, yet another top notch CS production, just what I would expect from you and boy do you deliver! Could you please ask Katja to send me some of the cold, think I could use a little, she sounds awesome. Can't really find much to fault, personally I would have turned up them guitars a bit but I'm a guitarist so what would I know...   ;D

Well done!

Hey digger - awesome track :)
You got production skillz man - the mix is perfect!
Like others have said the mood is perfectly creepy and foreboding.
I wasn't sure about using "aloha" with no hawiain references but I think it works in an unexpected back-handed way :)
Might be the one that takes the trophy..

It's either this or that, then again it might be the other.
