Hi guys
The groove-master (bin) sent me this track a few months back.
Seemed to match up well with a lyric I wrote last year so here they are married together.
Is it a happy marriage? We certainly hope you think so :)
Still needs some tweaks so any suggs are welcome.

The Thirteenth Floor

Music: Steve Wild (Binladeda) and Paul Tarle (Paul Canuck)
Lyrics: Paul Tarle (Paul Canuck)
Copyright 2016 Tennyson Road Music/Binladeda

Elevator beeps
Flashes a light
I'm gettin' the creeps
This ain't right!
The button I pressed
Has been ignored
Been taken instead
To the thirteenth floor

Oh, my Lord...

Led a life of crime
Even killed a cop
Never did my time
Never did get caught
Maybe he's come 'round
To settle the score?
And it's all goin' down
On the thirteenth floor

Thirteenth floor
Thirteenth floor
What kind o' horror
Do ya have in store?

Lordy Lord...

Sirens scream as handcuffs tie my wrists!
I never dreamed I'd have to die like this!

A word to the wise..
You do the crime?
You do the time!
Or you're gonna find
Your life will end like mine!

Elevator beeps, flashes a light
You're gettin the creeps - this ain't right
The button you pressed has been ignored
You've been taken instead to the 13th floor

Thirteenth floor
Thirteenth floor
What kind of horror do you have in store?

Lordy, Lord...

Guys,

Great collaboration.....love the lyrics and those amazing guitars.

The bass reminds me of the Early Police....especially Regatta De Blanc...one of my favourite Albums.

Excellent sound affect, I am in awe how you can work together across vast distances.

Two excellent musicians....one great song!

Man,

With all the things I've done, I'm gonna take the stairs...Required listening for all delinquents..:>)

Great earthshaking groove pushes the story....Love the dynamics and effects....And LOVE the organ slicing through at the break....

And excellent vocals..

Well done guys..

Hi Guys,

Great collab.
Never let down by Bin's groove and playing. Some totally mad work.
Loving the off the wall stuff going on which just gels perfectly. Sounds like someone running around with a chainsaw at times! ;D

Top job on the vocal Paul.

Excellent production.

Excellent, fellas...

I was really impressed when I first read the lyrics a while back...and this brings them to life brilliantly.

I loved the sparseness of the arrangement in places...might even have liked more of that...

That organ sounds absolutely fantastic!

So many great songs and concepts have been produced in this competition...and this is right up there with the best of them.

Well done, you two  :)

@igg

 thanks igg - maybe the stairs are safer :) appreciate the kind remarks on the organ and vocals!

@diademgrove

thanks Keith - it was fun to do and I couldn't believe how the lyrics lined up with bin's groove tracks.

@digger72

Hey digger - thanks so much - chainsaws :)

@shadowfax

cheers Kevin - means a lot given your fine talents

@PaulAds

thank you Paul. The organ is a freebee, the timing mistakes were free too :) Agree there are so many fine entries - flattered to be in the same contest as many of them :)

Hey guys....a very ominous feel to this  :-\. Love the build up to the chorus  :o
Not only is it spooky.......it's awfully high up the building  :o.
Good singing.....love the entire piece. Very entertaining!!

Wonderful phat bed to this. I thought the odd voices at the start and elsewhere were not really all that scary if that was the intention? Love the spiky organ. Lyrically the first verse sets it up nicely taking us straight into the scene with no messing around. Neat little story about the spirit completing the job that the courts never had the chance to do.

I like it. It's a good contender

Yeah, this is great. Loving the reggae vibe to this one. I particularly like the organ sound that you've got on this one. Right out of "Hush", Deep Purple. Great sound effects and clever use of rhythms and instruments. Great stuff guys

Its the devils dreadlocks with another one of bins reggae beats plus matching voodoo bass line
& super slippy slide guitar...& some funny beeping noises ?  is that the lift going wrong?

now im not sure but I think you dont have 13th floors in america/ canada so this is obviously very creepy to find one!
you always do a great vocal paul & I love that demonically distorted organ..
what a fabulous bridge the highlight of the song for me it realy walloped the song up to the 13th floor & beyond..i am absolutely knocked out with bins guitar sounds I dont know what hes doing exactly to that guitar but I hope its not too gruesome!
this is stunningly original & a definite 'or what entry'
Tell me Im wonderful & I ll be nice to you :)

Wowza, two reggaeish songs in a row...Im being spoilt tonight. This is great as well...the guitars and percussive keyboards...the synths, its all so incredibly inventive and I love it. Paul this is one of your best vocal performances by far and the music is just so....well the dogs boll*ks really. Great stuff - this competition is getting harder and harder.

Hi,

I'm continually staggered by the brilliance of this competition. Wow! this is fabulous. It sounds so well, er...gruesome! but it's catchy and fantastically well put together AND sung

Brilliant vibe guys

@IronKnee

cheers Tom!

@ShinyThang

thank you kind sir - yeah no need to beat around the bush lyrically IMHO :)

@pompeyjazz

thanks John - never even thought of reggae, but now that you mention it ... :)

@tinam

Appreciate the kind words Tina - you can blame some of those guitars on me - glad they stand up OK beside bin's lovely picking. No guitars were harmed in the making of this song though some were stressed a bit.

@MartynRich

You are too kind Martyn! :)

@boolio

Thanks so much Phil - glad we struck a chord with you :)
