This is just a short song I wrote about fighting against the government and all that cheery revolution stuff. Enjoy, and if you have any comments, please let me know!
Architects
They built this nation on native graves
We fought for it through fire and flames
They built this nation on the backs of slaves
But they work for nothing when their system caves
We are the architects of destruction
Creating through all we destroy
We are the architects of production
Feeding rage to those we employ
We are the architects!
We took this nation from corporate swine
We fought and put our lives on the line
A nation of architects, now's our time
To stand and fight against their crime
We are the architects of destruction
Creating through all we destroy
We are the architects of production
Feeding rage to those we employ
We are the architects!
We're building through destruction
We're fighting their corruption
They have no right to violation
Revolution is the destination
We are the architects of destruction
Creating through all we destroy
We are the architects of production
Feeding rage to those we employ
We are the architects!
We are the architects!
Build! Destroy!Build! Resist!
Just one suggestion.... and ignore it if you've already got a melody in mind.
I'd suggest the following for your chorus.
"The architects of destruction
Creating through all we destroy
The architects of production
Feeding rage to those we employ
We are the architects!"
The final line provides the "we are" and listeners and readers alike will apply it in their minds to the first two anyway since it's provided at the end.
Aside from that, what marvelously critical lyric without being at all whiny. Anger and simmering rage are all that come through. No whining at all. That's rare and impressive.
I've written a few of these myself. If you'd like to see the most negative (and most similar to yours) of them, just p.m. me, and I'll shoot you a lyric.
