From the moment I saw you, I knew you were the one
Until I said I loved you, my life had not begun
When you're with him, I can see it in your face
The Happiness he gives you, I want it to be me in his place

I've always wanted to be there for you
The apple of your eye
Needed to be there for you
that one and only guy
I want to be there beside you
Your hand in mine
What does it take for me
To be the apple of your eye

From the time you left me broken
I knew I hadn't won
I knew how'd I'd fucked up
And I know I'll never be the one

I've always wanted to be there for you
The apple of your eye
Needed to be there for you
That one and only guy
I want to be there beside you
Your hand in mine
What does it take for me
To be the apple of your eye

I've beent there beside you
waiting for my time
I've been there behind you
The one so far behind

Oh its not easy
But dont believe it
It wasnt the last time
No its not easy
but i promise this love will never die

OOh stop haunting my dreams
please set me freeeee
ooh stop haunting my dreans
just let me free

Surprised that no body responded to this piece; The song (if it is going to be a song) progresses well. If you're going to sing this, it'll be your delivery that will make or break it.

But lyrically, it's a very good piece!

Flows nice... I don't think you need the profanity... Not in this piece anyway...

I think the profanity works. It turns what was obviously a tumultuous thing of the past into a happy frivolity. It also highlights that it was a tumultuous thing (at the time)

I think the profanity works. I think it creates a more realistic and emotional sense of the anger you feel towards yourself when you do 'fuck' up. i think it was contextually correct anyway.

This song would be very easy for someone to put music to.  'apple of your eye' is such an old fashioned expression that I like the profanity that comes later!  I think this would be a rock song sung by a gritty vocalist!

I  like it  ;)
