Talking to @MonnoDB about That Sunday Morning seemed fateful, as I had this song as a half-thought in my head (a phone recording from a couple of weeks ago) and I decided to record it today.  It's the last song I'll share - it just seemed fortuitous. Thanks for bearing with me.  :). If anyone wonders - yes the jarring harmony on "She left him with nothing to say" is intentional - obviously you're free to dislike it, just to say it wasn't an accident. A mistake, possibly, but not an accident ;D

Down on the bank by the riverside
Waiting while the children splash and play
Down on the bank by the riverside
Waiting for Father’s Day.
Waiting for Father’s Day.

He took us here when we were boys
For his girlfriend, a cheap bouquet
But sweethearts play with simple toys
And Father made us pay.
Oh yes he made us pay

She left this spot, 30 years ago
She left him with nothing to say
He stole a rock from the rivers glow
And my brother died that day
I’m waiting for Father’s Day

Come on down to the riverside
Kneel down, and we will pray
Down on the bank by the riverside.
I’m waiting for Father’s Day.
I’m waiting for Father’s Day.
