@Domj This is a guy from my town. We all know each other round these parts  :P His name is Gary Potter and he plays all
that Django music. He first got invited over to that Django festival over on the continent in about 91.

Was really wierd seeing him on the telly  :D

The 2nd vid is a lot more recent :)

There are holes in the sky where the rain gets in  , but they're ever so small, that's why rain is thin.

I dunno - Gabriela is fantastic, but I can't get behind Rodrigo. Just because it's a Spanish guitar, doesn't mean it's not mindless shredding :p

The first one is fantastic! The second one i feel the composition loses it's form.
I can never get my head around how they play like that.

Can I just give the brilliant Brian Setzer a mention. I love rockabilly anyway so while I'm at it, how about Darryl Higham.

Yes, it's a great melody. I'm just allergic to the fact that he's playing a spanish guitar with a plectrum :o he's missing out on all the tonal colours of the instrument.

And people are always saying he's a great guitarist, but I think she's far better than him. What she does is much harder to do, and she does it far better than he does.

So there :p

''whos you r fave guityarist'' I chuckled a little
This is an easy one for me, Jonny Greenwood
I don't even like Radiohead that much. But seeing him literally rape his guitar AND himself to pieces, that speaks to me on so many levels

Lot's to choose from.

But recently been listening to Jeff Beck's 70's / early 80's stuff. Kinda Jazz funk. But that would match up with my fav bassist. Stanley Clarke.
I have no authority or standing here, only opinions. :-)

here's a few I think deserve mention......Joe walsh, Alvin lee, Leslie West and I'm a great fan of Arlo Guthrie....all brilliant guitar players....I could go on but most of my guitar heroes are from a 'certain era'.  For me the most important technique in guitar playing is attack, that's why Hendrix has got to be my all time great.   Oh and don't forget Tom Petty, Bob dylan, Carlos santana............. :D :D
