Recently I graduated from high school which was probably one of the hardest things I had to deal with since it was a pretty good time in my life so I dealt with it like I always did and wrote a song about the last walk I took back from my school! as always any feedback is welcome thanks!
Good times ahead:
When I saw the sad times coming
the memories started to flood back
I signed a framed picture with the brothers I made,
And I knew I was never looking back
When I walked home the summer breeze hit me
And the cars rushed past the roads
But then I knew I had to do what was done
So I put on a smile and I put on my coat
Chorus:
The good times, the times ahead
were ones that I never want to forget
The ones that made me laugh with no moral regrets
I’m gonna cherish the good times ahead
the time I fell in love just like a domino
I’m gonna cherish the good times ahead
Verse 2:
The bridge I walked past was rocky
Surely just like the path I will take
As I remembered those times I had with my friends
I was excited for the times ahead
Through the streets and over the houses
was where I ran through the fields as a kid
I'll never forget those times
as long as I live cause back then was as good as it gets
Chorus:
The good times, the times ahead
were ones that I never want to forget
The ones that made me laugh with no moral regrets
I’m gonna cherish the good times ahead
the time I fell in love just like a domino
I’m gonna cherish the good times ahead
Instrumental break
Verse 3:
I ran and put my bags down
As I looked through albums of old
I'm young with potential that nobody knows
So I rest my worries and focus on hope
I guess I'm ready to move on now
this could be a letter for people I know
I need to thank them quick and then I move on
'Cause I know talking about this could be getting old
Chorus x2:
The good times, the times ahead
were ones that I never want to forget
The ones that made me laugh with no moral regrets
I’m gonna cherish the good times ahead
the time I fell in love just like a domino
I’m gonna cherish the good times ahead
