Uuuuhm....what's going on? This has taken me completely by surprise. I didn't know this was going on or that I was in the running until Niel C congratulated me in an unrelated message. I read the initial thread about this idea a while ago but now I'm kind of shocked. I'm not really sure what to say. If I had been paying more attention I would have voted! Thank you to whoever nominated me and to all who voted. This kind of made my day. (:
If I could make a couple of suggestions for the future:
1)Message anyone who is nominated and message anyone who wins, or simply when the results are up even if they didn't win.
2)Make the vote count public. It would show just how close things are and give us all a better idea of how many people are participating.
It would be ideal if the forum itself made all the competitions more immediately visible, especially when some can take a month or more to progress. Visible updates on the front page would be very helpful. Although, perhaps the will of this community is outgrowing the technical capacity of the website. Which, to be honest, is a wonderful progression.
