I'd love to hear your feedback on this song. Still a work in progress.

Running Back To You

https://soundcloud.com/nathan-clark-7/the-revolution-running-back-to/s-YFPzF

Verse 1
Slow walk in the pouring rain
Long time since I called your name
Getting older, every moment
Getting older, I am broken

A man knows what he's gotta do
Ashamed cause I'm overdue
Can't fight it, any longer
Can't fight it, Love is stronger
Time to give it back to you

Chorus
I tried everything I know
Walked down every lonely road
Can't make it on my own
I'm running back to you
Hope grows in the strangest places
Let go of the years I wasted
Can't wait for love to save me
I'm running back to you

Verse 2
World turns at a slower pace
Can't stop when you need a change
Keep moving, I am restless
Keep moving, through this one horse town

Hard days and the sleepless nights
Feels wrong when you know its right
Can't take it, one more second
Can't take it, time is running out
Time to give it back to you!

Catchy tune, great groove, well sung and played and the lyrics fit well. so from that stand point you've done a good job.

On to the recording

Only criticism is open up the middle - pan those guitars a little harder L & R (double them up if need be.

Same comment on the drums...out of curiosity are these live drums?

Overall the mix is a little bland...mid heavy and lacking definition

Yes. .These are live drums. This was all cut in my home studio using Studio One.

I will definitely try a hard pan on the guitars so how that works to open it up a bit.

Flowed like a river... really enjoyed. Lyrics and melody go well together.
I think more emphasis should be put on 'Running back to you' more stand alone.
Very well put together. Terry.

Like the tune... it got potencial!

I can give you some ideas on how to make the recording bigger...

Double the guitars - pan them L and R for bigger sound.
Double the vocals in the Chorus to give it the punsh.
Play around with reverb and delay on both guitars and vocals to make in interesting.

In my opinion it's ok to record a 100 guitars in the studio even if you are just 2 guitarplayers in the band...  ;)

It's a catchy song! Keep it up!

Didn't really care for the lyric until I heard it sung.  Then it was just right for the song.

Just goes to show that you can't really judge a lyric separate from the song.  It's not a poem.

Very nice work.  I'm no musician, so the musician advice you've already gotten will have to suffice.

I liked this a lot.

Hi, I'm guessing you like U2 :o ;). This is a good song, well sung and played. I liked it. Given a 'big' production this is a stadium rock song. Nice one!
Cheers

Really good stuff mate.  Music and vocals are really really good.  I would probably agree with some of the above comments about the mix, but I know you're already aware of them.

My only gripe is the lyrics.  I feel they're  a bit obvious in places, especially the chorus, bordering on cliche to be honest.

I hope that doesn't sound too harsh, because I'm really impressed with everything else.  I think you've got a great track here, even more so if you tinker with the lyrics
