Hello, I'm new to the forum and relatively new to the singing aspect of music. I play the guitar and sing, and this song is one of the first times I actually sang 'properly' (or attempted to). I know my voice isn't anything special, but I'm hoping that my lyrics may balance it out slightly. I'm more about the lyrics than anything else, so I hope that shines through. I've been writing for around four years, but that would only be prose and poetry. Recently I found the confidence to sing my poems, and I showed this one to some friends, who all seemed to really like it - which gave me the confidence to post it here.

I only recorded the song on my phone, I have no way of doing a proper one any time soon. It starts off a bit messy but as it goes on I begin to get more and more into it. It's a work in progress, but the lyrics are done and so is the chord structure. It's a work in progress in the sense that I may get together with a few friends who are more musically gifted and knowledgeable as far as instrumentation goes, and add the finishing touches that way.

I'd like to hear what you have to say!

Hi, and welcome! :) I like this. Nothing wrong with your voice. I'm not a good singer myself, but I do it anyways and I've definitely improved along the way. I quite like your voice - it's very raw and emotional. If you record this properly, and polish it a bit, it can become a good song. Would be nice if you posted the lyrics as well ;D Good luck!

Thanks! I'll definitely get it recorded properly. A friend has a proper microphone and software, so I could use that. I'm also thinking about buying some equipment myself.

Thanks for listening, I'm glad that you liked it  :)
