Hello, I'm new to the forum and relatively new to the
singing aspect of music. I play the guitar and sing, and this song is one of the first times I actually sang 'properly' (or attempted to). I know my voice isn't anything special, but I'm hoping that my lyrics may balance it out slightly. I'm more about the lyrics than anything else, so I hope that shines through. I've been writing for around four years, but that would only be prose and poetry. Recently I found the confidence to sing my poems, and I showed this one to some friends, who all seemed to really like it - which gave me the confidence to post it here.
I only recorded the song on my phone, I have no way of doing a proper one any time soon. It starts off a bit messy but as it goes on I begin to get more and more into it. It's a work in progress, but the lyrics are done and so is the chord structure. It's a work in progress in the sense that I may get together with a few friends who are more musically gifted and knowledgeable as far as instrumentation goes, and add the finishing touches that way.
