Well done, may it lead to great things 😀

Well done Alan , what does that actually mean though, do you have a contract of some kind , do they want so many songs a year ? Are you being paid ?
Sounds impressive mate.
Good luck,
Andy ;)

They normally offer a 1 yr non exclusive 50/50 deal.....so you can still use your song for other purposes..and of course they get 50% of any revenues that they raise........i was looking at a UK one yesterday that offer 70/30 if they have exclusive rights and 60/40 for non exclusive..
The thing with publishers though is to consider exactly what they will achieve...how well connected are they? are they a new outfit just looking to build their catalogue?
It's not as good as it sound sometimes but what real alternative options are there......self publishing ,then you have to spend an age finding contacts and collecting royalties if you get a placement...

Cheers guys.
I'm 3 years into my publishing mission now.
The ratio of successes to rejections is very...very........very small BUT an attitude of never EVER giving up gets you somewhere at some point.
For anyone interested in the pitching process this is how I've moved forward :
2012 :
Joined PRS for music.
Signed publishing deal with US publisher - no success.
Signed songs to Nashville licensor - one song licensed.
Signed publishing deal with Danish publisher - small success with corporate/web use.
2013 :
Signed publishing deal and record deal with US publisher - turned bad and pulled out of any further business along with 2 other songwriters.
Joined The Guild of International Songwriters and Composers - left after one year.
Had a song used in UK TV soap 'Hollyoaks'.
2014 :
Signed publishing deal with Australian publisher.
Signed publishing deal with US publisher.
2015 :
Signed publishing deal with US publisher (this thread).
This is were I am after a huge amount of effort and time.
THREE YEARS HARD WORK and a tiny taste of success BUT I'm in contact with people who can do things and I've given them a reason why it's worth (at least) listening to songs I send them.
I'm happy where I am at the moment. Not successful, not rich. But happy with the direction.
There have been lots of small offers/deals but none worth mentioning.
'There by me' was a song I signed with Sentric but then withdrew because of interest from a 'real' publisher.
It's ironic that Sentric are the only real TV success I've had up to now and absolutely anyone can go to their site and sign songs to them. They're exclusive but you can get a release within about 30 days if/when you want.
So that's where I'm at.
If you've got something you believe in and do the best you can - you'll get somewhere.
I don't know where exactly. But you'll get there.
Hope this is of interest/useful.
BTW - this new deal is one year, 50/50 non-exclusive.

Thanks for sharing that Aian.....a very interesting insight into what goes on ;D

Yes Alan i can well believe your timeline of events...and for some out there thats reasonably successful ....3 years sounds a long time ,but it isn't ....10 years of hard work is an average timespan anyone should factor in to their music making.....and i wish i had been more aware of that myself..15 months ago...still ;) ::)
My own experiences so far are:
November /DEC 2014: Flossie and me get 'wild on the run ' published with Lyric house Publishing Colorado ...
I then had 6 more demos made..3 of them co-writes....sent them off to the same pub. no replies!.........then about 4 weeks ago i sent another email directed at the owner and got referred to Daniel in their new L.A office...and so i wait.
Theres many options...you can publish your stuff with TUNECORE for example....but i don't recommended this.......the most serious pubs are out of touch.....so a good independant with some sort of track record is the best option ,at least for me.
The 'pass' rate is very high and of course theres the charlatans out there ,that on the surface look very interesting ,but are out to exploit..
Heyho
