Hi All, sorry that I haven't been around the forum recently. I'm hoping to get back to reviewing some songs next week as I'm going to be isolating for 10 days. Here's a quick number that I knocked up about people jumping on the green bandwagon. Enjoy :)
Listen to I Wanna Be Electric by pompeyjazz on #SoundCloud
https://soundcloud.app.goo.gl/uH2zs
I think I'm running low on gas (I wanna be electric)
Running on half an empty tank (Wanna be electric)
No that everything's at large
I'm going to boost up my charge
Everybody else is going green
Everybody else is quite obscene
Like it when they really make a scene
Falling for another magic bean
Trash the coal, forget the gas – Plug in now (I wanna be electric)
Solar, hydro, kinetic fusion – Want it now (I wanna be electric)
I have to check on my computer
Another glance into the future
It's time that you got on your bike (I wanna be electric)
And wear clothes that you really don't like (I wanna be electric)
Peddling pedalling power
Charging up the grid by the hour
Everyone embrace our mother earth
Popularise the message you unearthed
Oh it's good of you to take the time
A Twenty first century gold mine
Trash the coal, forget the gas – Plug in now (I wanna be electric)
Solar, hydro, kinetic fusion – Want it now (I wanna be electric)
I have to check on my computer
Another glance into the future
Half a trillion watts of mega power
All supplies are dwindling by the hour
Trash the coal, forget the gas – Plug in now (I wanna be electric)
Solar, hydro, kinetic fusion – Want it now (I wanna be electric)
I have to check on my computer
Another glance into the future

I love it. Reminds me of one or two bands from way back. It's raw and your vocal is dead right for this. I'm on my hols in Yorkshire at the minute..riding my e-bike for much of the time!! I'm sure you didn't really want to know that (!) but I'm into the song..great stuff. :)

Great chugging guitars on this John. I like the "pedalling pedal power" line a lot! Dig the way it doesn't waste a square inch... straight in there as a good fun rocker. Lyrics are funny... as someone who works for a green energy company I better be careful what I say about them...(!)... but trust me, it ain't always a 21st century gold mine. ;-) Keep em coming John, hope to hear some more from your "isolation tapes".

Hi John, I always like your rocky stuff best. Definitely some punk influences from your past in here.
Good work John, keep them coming.

Hey @pompeyjazz (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=20269) - great to hear a new song from you! Hope the move went well and look forward to hearing more from you… and in fine form on this - great punky attitude on show - love those dirty guitars giving it great energy right up to the final moment. The ‘wanna be electric’ line really glues itself to the brain. I’ll be singing it all night.
Lyrics clever and tight…
Qualify stuff, John!

John, loving the energy and clever catchy 'want to be electric' refrain
Sharp and amusing lyrics sung with your committed rock vocals.
And what an ending.
Lots to like

Mr Jazz, you've always been electric! You're a genuine, rocking music maker and this has all the trademarks of a musician who has served his time on the live circuit. How do you sing like that without hurting your voice permanently? I guess you'll be doing this when you are collecting your pension ;D Your a die hard rocker through and through, exploring many different songwriting avenues. Kudos @pompeyjazz (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=20269)!

Hi John,
Vocal is sounding like raw energy. Perhaps that should be used to power the grid.
Loving the attitude.
