Dear All,
Abject apologies forumites and hopefully better late than never. I think we've got enough time to slot this in before April so here goes. And I have to say its really inspiring to listen to the quality and variety of music you all make. The nominated tunes are in no particular order:
TheButcher: Song for http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=10902.0 (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=10902.0)

Did I miss the March song of the month voting??
-
Vicki, no just me being very slow, work, life and excuses...
Will be out by the weekend.

Ahhhh...I can relate. I'm glad I didn't miss it. I might feel well enough by the weekend to listen to the options and vote (I'm recovering from surgery...ugh!).

Vote early and vote often. :D
-
I have voted! :D
-
My votes are in too...c'mon, folks :)
-
Great selection of songs this time.
I've voted and you should too!
-
I voted and didn´t do the politician thing...
-
That wasn't easy, but it's done!
-
That wasn't easy, but it's done!
I'm learning...it's never easy. Sometimes I get pretty close to the "eeny-meany-minee-moe" stage.
-
Done...
-
Cracking selection, when is the deadline?
-
Nice selection.
Tricky to pick em' out but tried my best and voted.
-
Midnight April 30th (deadline, that is), but which time zone? Greenwich Mean?
-
Ive never been in a chance of getting fifth or upwards in a competition before. Im quite excited. I did enter the International Song Competition once, waste of time and money. This is much better.
-
Yeah, here you're really up against the big boys....and girls.
-
Lol, wasn't being sarcastic. I've already heard better music on this forum than I have through a mountain of competition winners.
Take the UK winner last year. Great song and all that but it wasn't exactly original. Just very well produced and performed.
-
There's a great selection this month as usual. Really difficult to choose top 3

Hey, I wasn't joking either....well, having a bit of fun maybe.
You're right. There is some good stuff on here.
When I think on that and us only being a small number of members, I figure that there must be a LOT of good music being produced out there by thousands of people which only gets heard by their families and dogs. The chance that I'm ever going to make more than a few bucks out of my songs has got to be pretty slim!
-
You know what would be great - if people abandonned the music industry, stopped paying £1 a track and instead paid like 20p per track from the multitudes of unsigned artists out there.
In my mind the listeners would get better, less commercially-focussed, mindless, sanitised music. The artists may not get filthy rich, but would at least have a chance of making a decent living. And when a real talent comes through they might not waste it because the fame, money & drugs go to their heads.
Anyway that's my tuppence for the day. Voted.
-
Glad the selection isn't easy, you're producing some great and varied stuff.
Thanks for all the votes, please keep the trickle/torrent of votes coming in.
Chickenfeet - you're confusing the hell out of me with you constant change in handle - I'm sure you're right about the volume of stuff thats out there, but that's a problem, how to differentiate and be heard in such 'noise'. And as Martyn suggests the songs seem to be less important when the entry level is top notch produced and performed.
Doodles, people will always follow the money. The internet age is changing the business models around where artist make money ( live/streaming/clothing etc) but not sure about stuff not going to people heads..
Vicki, re deadline midmight your time will be ok cause i won't do anything till i get out of bed - there's an image I thinki'll leave you all with ;D
:)

Good turnout, 18 votes.
However the counting officer has had to get involved as there appears to be some confusing on a voting slip which is just being looked into. More coming soon...

I need to say [again, if I already said it]...I was amazed and speechless even to have a song in the top five. I've been telling everybody I know how excited and honored I am that I won the song of the month! That really--to me, anyway--illustrates what a difference professional-level production makes. If you're curious about the difference, you can hear my original version here: https://soundcloud.com/caliamoko/the-mark-of-the-chain. So, here's an enormous thank you to Boydie for his work on my song.
And this provides some motivation for me to try to learn how to do a decent job of production myself. I haven't been doing much of anything lately (for those who don't know, I had surgery on April 18th and it has taken me longer than I expected to get feeling better...but I finally feel like eating again as of Monday this week, and I haven't been feeling sick for the same amount of time, so...finally...I think I'm getting better), but I'm hoping to get back into regular reviewing of songs and working on my own songs again very soon.
Anyway, I am extremely honored! Big, big thank yous to the voters and congratulations to everyone in the top 5. :D
