Hi folks

Got a new song, innit. And I'm proud to be able to say that the production on this is all the work of our forum's own Paul (Pablo to you oldies)

I'm bowled over by it; I hope you like it :)

You should take everything

The creaking door that lets you in
has rot to the hinges and given up to sin
you lost your hat in an idle wind
the curses of millions follow you in

The saints go marching in with their guns
the eyes of the world, the weight of the sun
and blood is bursting out through the skin
you should go and you should take everything

are we not designed to love in this life?
Cut out the heart, the pain just doesn't taste right
your envoy of peace is a merchant of lies
the window for change a single breath wide

The saints go marching in with their guns
the eyes of the world, the weight of the sun
and blood is bursting out through the skin
you should go and you should take everything

are we not taught to suffer when nothing's wrong?
are we not taught to never belong...

This is phenomenal Tone / Paul ,

Highlights are the lyrics and pulsating beastly driving arrangement - first class

I loved this

The only minor quibble I have is that the "saints go marching in" hook could have been built on more , even repeated - it is such a clever twisty hook - I don't think you fully capitalise on this

But stunning just stunning - I would buy this :-)

Dan and Nooms, thanks for the kind words. A Finn Brother? I WISH! But I appreciate the nod to my musical benchmarks.

What a fabulous production and arrangement. Very very well done guys.
That breathy intro was cool :) Got nothing to add that haha I couldn't say anything that could improve it  :)
Think it's spot on  ;D

Really nice smooth and melodic sound. Easy on the ear and highly listenable (new word?).

Only one tiny thought - Maybe it's my monitors, but I couldn't hear your words very clearly. Besides that, lovely song.

Very enjoyable. Love the slide acoustic guitar work. Great lyrics. Well put together all in all!

My only main production quibble is with the lead vocal sound. It sounds like it needs a better employed de-esser, and perhaps a warmer EQ setting. The words are nice and clear but it makes the vocal sound a bit top happy, which jars with the warm mix of the song as a whole. It became less of an issue as my ear adjusted to it, but the ear has an natural tenancy to compensate such frequencies.

This is aside from the song review, which is a solid thumbs up  :D

Liked it a lot. Excellent match of arrangement and song - very sympathetic. Nice understated drum track. Nice Vocal. My only criticism would be that the end is too sudden. Maybe you had no choice if it was a loop, but I would have preferred a straight fade.
