Title: The Binladeda Challenge
Post by: Kafla on September 15, 2020, 11:27:50 AM
Hi everyone,

I am going to try and organise the challenge a little. So what I propose is you PM me if you are going to enter.

What I am proposing is we start posting out entries from the 1st of October. Depending on the volume I aim to leave maybe 2-3 days between posting to give every entry its own slot. I will post mine exactly in the middle of all entries.

I will give you your posting date via PM.

I also propose if you are going to share a new song that you maybe delay it until 2 weeks after you entry so we can focus on this.

I hope this is acceptable to everyone  ;D

Andy

 Greetings folks ;D

WOW.  I've got a challenge named after me.  I'm extremely honoured (and a tad embarrassed).  But seeing as it's up there.....I'm wondering why words like
Great and Amazing weren't used  :P

So far, six people have the stems.  I've heard a few, and they are sounding really good....

I'll put the track up again on this thread....just in case ;D ;D

 https://soundcloud.com/binladeda/no1/s-WKQ3r

Em 95bpm 4/4.....if anyone else wants to take the challenge.

 Take care

So here is the plan :

October 1st @pompeyjazz (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=20269). I must admit I sneaked a listen to his entry and well we better get it out the way first as it’s a stonker 🤣😎

4th October our very own @Wicked Deeds (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=19231)

8th October @adamfarr (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=20124)

11th October me

15th October @5 guys named Lars (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=22535)

18th October @Sterix (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=22024)

Does this work for everyone ? Obviously it’s just a guide - post when you can! Any late entries will fall into the same pattern behind @Sterix (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=22024) so you still have time.

I know @Binladeda (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=18620) is thrilled with this and so he should be as it’s a fantastic little arrangement he has casually thrown together!

Peace❤️

Andy

Don't forget the maestro Mr Paul @PaulAds (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=20253) .......he's expressed an interest, and has the stems.

Cool, thanks! (On reflection I definitely like this idea of having them released gradually - there could be quite a lot of similar listening otherwise!)

Yes! and when I sneaked a listen to @pompeyjazz (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=20269) it was weird as I kept waiting for my vocal to start lol

It's a bit of a mind-bending exercise :)

I think it would be quite funny for a new person to join just as we post them all - "all their songs sound the same: haha ;) ;D

The challenge is to interpret one of Bin's instrumentals and produce a song out of it. Then we all release our versions one by one on the dates shown.

All done @PaulAds (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=20253)  but spent the last few days recording vocals to try & sound like Johnny Cash (SPOILER: its not going to happen!! ;D). Could do with my balls dropping to be honest. :D

Hey Guys,  Hope you're all well and looking after the old folks ;D

Sorry for my absence....unavoidable, and painful ::) ::)

Really chuffed that so many of you have taken the bait ;D. A few of you have asked for some lead, so I've managed to
get a couple of tracks together, and I've put them in the dropbox folder.  They're both full up with lead, so I'm sure there will be,
at least, a couple of bars you cut/edit/squeeze out of 'em ;D  Here's one I did earlier, just to give you an idea of what they sound like.

 https://soundcloud.com/binladeda/deepend-leadx2/s-wCKqhj9Zdmu.

Looking forward to hearing everyones song.  Hope you're all having fun with this.  I put this together around a year ago, with the idea of
getting something Sheryl Crow'ish going....but life got in the way ;D. I'm wondering if anyone else heard it that way........

 Take care all......keep recycling ;D

Whew - I thought mine was due today and I was going to have to a-Paul-ogize for not having it done yet. :D
I'm deliberately not listening to others tracks until mine's done because I'll just end up stealing your melody lines.
Plus I don't want to get discouraged hearing how good they are.. :D

I better get cracking!!

Hello folks. Some fabulous tunes being put together on this challenge. Utterly blooming FASCINATING to hear everyone’s take.
I had a quick chat with Steve Binladeda last week, and would be totally gatecrashing the party, but would love to make a late entry after half term - only if it’s alright with you guys????
Hope everyone is well and enjoying their Saturday so far.
Big love from Surrey xxx

The more the merrier, @Cazrolina (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=20891) (at least from my perspective - and I'm sure the others will agree).

Reminds me, I need to go hear the last few as I haven't had the time this week.
