Hello,
A new track for your consideration, this time with a short 'story behind the song'...
Last year, I watched in horror (as many did) viral videos appear on social media, showing groups of teenagers bullying and beating up other kids. One video in particular showed a group of lads beating another lad unconscious in a forest.
As a father myself, this had a very deep impact on me, and I felt quite 'down' for a long time... so I decided to channel this, and wrote this song 'Reach Out', which I intended to be an anti-bullying song. I even teamed up with my wife Sally to record it.
If the track appeals to you, it can be downloaded from
www.danieltrigger.bandcamp.com, where all proceeds are being sent directly to the Diana Award Anti-Bullying Campaign.
Hope you enjoy, and here are the lyrics...
REACH OUT
You’re battered down for the hundredth time,
It’s not your fault, there’s no reason why.
They’re telling you
(Hey hey) No-one believes you,
(Hey hey) Nobody sees you,
(Hey hey) There’s no-one to hear you scream.
Reach out for hope, reach out for love,
Open up so you don’t feel so helpless and alone,
Reach out for love.
Their twisted words cut like a knife,
A stupid game to make you cry.
They say to you,
Hey hey) No-one believes you,
(Hey hey) Nobody hears you.
Reach out for hope, reach out for love,
Open up so you don’t feel so helpless and alone,
Have some faith, confide in someone,
You will find that new horizon,
Through your darkest night will shine the dawn,
Remember you are not alone.
Reach – out (reach our for love)
Reach – out (reach our for love)
Reach – out (reach our for love)
Reach – out (reach our for love)
Reach out for hope, reach out for love,
Open up so you don’t feel so helpless and alone,
Have some faith, confide in someone,
You will find that new horizon,
Through your darkest night will shine the dawn,
Remember you are not alone.
Wo-ah - you are not alone
Wo-ah - you are not alone
Wo-ah - you are not alone
