@Nick Ryder The logic stem splitter does look pretty fabulous. One of my mates is working to remix a demo that we originally recorded in 1979 so pretty excited to hear the results of that.

Oh wow, John. That's amazing. It really opens up so many possibilities.

I know I've got a few live desk recordings from 94 which weren't too bad at the time but the balance was all wrong.

Also, I can tune some of the dodgy vocals :)

Hi all.

I posted this song before as a work in progress, but I feel its as close as its going to be to a finished song now. I think it just needs mastering. I was lucky to get a real drummer and saxophone on this too which has made a real difference.

Like most of my song, it is written about someone I know.

When all the lights go out you’re falling, falling
And you are drifting in a dark dark place

When fire burns so bright the heat burns your eyes
You disappear without a trace

And when religion fails you
And when the church bells toll
And you have nowhere else to turn, at, all

When you deceive yourself and pray for recompense
Its just a mirror and it makes, no sense

And when the well is dry,
And when the flowers die
And when you’re putting up your best, defence

This is not a test,
This is not a game my son
This not a practise run
And while you’re having fun……

This is not a film
This is now reality
And this is how it’s meant to be
You’re not the only one who feels this

Don’t ignore the ones who love you
Don’t betray the ones who care
The one’s you need the most, are the one’s you should keep close
They’re the ones who always will be there

Don’t forget just who you are
You’re a diamond in the rough, a brilliant rising star
Don’t give up on what you want
I’m begging of you please so I’m telling you  in this song…….

Just an update on this as I installed the update on Tuesday.

The Stem Splitter feature is excellent. I loaded in an old mp3 of a mix we did back in the 90's (the masters are long since lost) and ran it through the Stem splitter.

I ended up with 4 stereo stems:

Drums
Bass
Vocals
Everything else

The separation is pretty mind blowing and it allowed me to add EQ and compression to each. I've now managed to remix the songs to a much higher standard than before!!

The Virtual bass and keyboard players are pretty good too. You can get a decent part out of them and then convert to MIDI for fine tuning.

Oh man we don't want to go on religion and how it works on biz , Who knows Rightly
Mumble mouth in a Nashville term , on lousy diction , I'm very conscience now in studios
If you sing like Whitney Houston but diction sucks , Ya got fix that , Producers come in handy on all that
Jesus love you and God , lets leave it at that , I have no idea on the rest
I think apple computers are better , You don't get all that bullshit on ads politics ect ect
Maybe later , then you got transfer and all that . I could carless what the worlds doing , music wife and fishing
