Title: Easy love is everywhere...
Post by: shadowfax on August 30, 2016, 07:56:19 AM
Hi peeps..a song with a bit of Indian influence...if you take a listen, I thank you..the wide snare is intentional. :) :)

The room is shakin round me,
my feelings lay before you,
I cannot live without your love,
they say it runs right through you,
I say it's lost inside me,
I cannot live without your love,
easy love is everywhere,
but I can't live my life, without you,
easy love is everywhere,
but I can't live my life,
without ever loving you,

The room is shakin round me,
my feelings lay before you,
I cannot live without your love,
your shadow falls across me,
as you walk towards the door,
I cannot live without your love,
easy love is everywhere,
but I can't live my life, without you,
easy love is everywhere,
but I can't live my life,
without ever loving you, ©KNmac

Hi Kevin,

I caught this on SC the other day when you first posted it and really liked it. It's quite different from you but retains that unmistaken Shadowfax style  :) You're right about the Indian influence, I think it works very well as does the wide snare. Another very good song from your stable  :)

Cheers

John

Good song, I heard the eastern influences.
Sounds 80s to me   Really nice production and nice touches.
Good on yer'!

My only nit is my usual pet peeve...the "withoutchore love" phrases. Otherwise, excellent as always. You have a distinctive and unmistakable enjoyable style.

I like the mild indian flavour here....it was sort of a korma I think  :)
I realy like the tabla drum at the start & the sitar at the end
& I love the bit in the middle with the drums the lead guitar & the strings ...that bit sounds quite tense like shes threatening to leave & your giving her a taster of your new curry instrumental bit ..but obviously its not quite hot enuff for her ;D
Anyway whats worrying me kevin is you always seem to lose the girl in your songs...what are you doing wrong? ...you take this one on a smashing Indian holiday & she still leaves...oh she sounds impossible!
anyway you are going for a more exotic & rhythmic dancey type song lately which will hopefully attract a better type  :)

Something different from you Kevin - sounds great!
Vocals and production top notch as usual. I was waiting for one of your ethereal breakdowns - maybe with sitars and the like - but still held my interest. There are a couple spots near the end where there is a bar or two that seemed dead - filling space or whatever. I would think of cutting them out and go straight to the next line. But that's small 'taters on a good write and performance like this.
Always a pleasure to listen to your stuff  ;D ;D

Hi Kev,

I really enjoyed the arrangement on this one...very rich! Nice vocal melody aswell mate.Mix was great, the only thing I wasn't too sure about was the effect you had on your voice for this one? I'm not convinced you need it mate. The singing was great,it just didn't sound as clean as some of your other stuff if you see what I mean? (Ha! I'm not even sure I know what I mean! ;D)

Another really good track mate!

Right,I feel cheated. Where is this everywhere easy love you speak of?

I've always found it very difficult, there are so many rules with the wimminz..maaaan >:(

Brownie points is the way to go,a 'wise' old duffer once told me,gitchore brownie points stocked up,he said, wimminz love the brownie points.

Thing is,I can't tell you the hoops of blazing fire I've had to jump through for the odd squeeze and you know what? Those Brownie points,ye best git them while they're hot, because the 'use by' date passes in record time,ie the first minor male transgression nukes them all from space. Stock them up?  ::)

Do an old boy a favour,Kev and pass on a few real tips, somewhat less oblique than the lyric of yer esteemed choon.
It's getting to be that lashings of Brut, well used one liners and my best tank top and loon pants don't pull like they used to. :(

Despite that one criticism,I loved your song Kev,it's the best Rush song that wasn't on the album 'Signals'.  :)

sounds lie a real musical journey - i think it s hard to write a piece like that.
there s a lot going on, it s never boring and there are many creative ideas in it.
so - wow.
sounds and instruments sound a little outdated but it kinda fits the 80s vibe.

your songs always remind me of peter gabriel, whom i admire.

Great song. Love those Eastern Influence, especially those sitars at the end.

Feels like a musical journey to me.

Hints of the 80s and George Harrison.

Well done

Lovely eastern flavour and beautifully realised string arrangement. Your material really is of the highest quality on this forum. The track draws you in from the start - original and compelling. Loved the sitar - I could maybe have heard more of it earlier on but otherwise perfect.

This is great Kevin, a real nice vibe throughout and a superb build up from start to finish. The beat is absolutely fantastic and when sitar comes in, it´s really understated and effective. Great way to finish the song.

You´ve put huge thought into the arrangement and it really shows, although as Leo said, maybe you didn´t need the effects on the vocals? Anyway, this is excellent, as always.

 Usual high standard  ;D

Thought the Indian stuff was delicate and
worked very well.  Just the right flavour..

Build/arrangement etc. was excellent as ever,
and when it kicked in I was sold ;D Loved what
 you did with the drums..

 Elegant and powerful...excellent song ;D

Hi Just wanted to say this really kept my interest I loved the subtle Eastern feel which, for me  provided a heady atmosphere which wasn't overstated at all and painted the picture well. I think I'll have another listen now...Great job

Kev,
Liked the the atmosphere, synths, vocals and tabla working well together.
Then it good into the strings and rock and picks up momentum properly.
liked the drums, the bass and snare give it real momentum
And then you get the sitar, just wondered if you couldn't it earlier in the song?
 :)
