Another song I recently wrote:

Food from the garbage no matter what the age
Children and elders are living on the edge
Ordinary people who had no chance to merge
Society expelled them like a cop without a badge

So tell me Mr.President how is it to be rich
While half of the community has no food within reach
Like a poor dog that his owner decided to ditch
Just so you know this problem won't be solved by a magical witch

Poverty - it's not a disease
No, no not a disease
Just people the goverment like to seize
Yeah, the government like to seize

Poverty - no not a disease
It's not a disease
Just people the goverment like to seize
Yeah, the government like to seize

You could have a house, a car and workplace just to fill your own needs
To have a wife and right conditions to raise a few kids
But hey, chill out and stop talking about your self wills
The president's Mercedes must get four new wheels

Poverty - it's not a disease
No, no not a disease
Just people the goverment like to seize
Yeah, the government like to seize

Poverty - no not a disease
It's not a disease
Just people the goverment like to seize
Yeah, the government like to seize

People who meant to live with nothing at all [nothing at all]
While others have so much they can barely recall [barely recall]
It's not fair, It's not right but try to live through your might
At least your conscience isn't bothering you at nights

So tell me Mr.President how is it to be rich?

Well meant, well structured - contrasting the president's life in luxury with the misery of his people should work 'nicely'. It's too moral to my taste, but that's just me (I'm a cynic, check out my "scavengers" if you're interested and have got the time).

The rhyming is a bit 'shaky' here and there.

"Just people the goverment like to seize" - it's "government" and "likes" (singular), but more importantly: the statement is most likely quite wrong. If all poor people would be put in prison (or whatever you mean by "seized") they would have to be fed - real governments leave them gathering garbage, it's much cheaper.

"You could have a house, a car and workplace just to fill your own needs" - does this line meet the meter you're having in mind?

"People who meant to live with nothing at all" - that would mean that it's their own wish to live in poverty; I very much doubt that.
