Pez,
Yep the second one works.
Likely the spanish indie feel, with the squelshes at the breakdown made me ;D.
But not sure I'd overplay it as it kind stops the songs flow and left me wondering whether to continue to listen. If the lyrics tell a story which I think them might I'd arrange the music to support that rather than the other way around if that makes sense?

Hi, I'm with Neil on this. The song became too disjointed and distracted from the feel and flow. I think these little in fills can work ,but too many... :o Nice singing and not a bad song!

Cheers

Hi!

I really like the Spanish guitar sound, but I've got to agree with the comments above - i think it would hold my interest much better without the interludes. It works great for me in the parts where you've got both vocals and guitar driving it forwards, but it loses its impetus a little bit in between these parts. Could be really really great though if you keep up the rhythm and motion.

Here's the lyrics btw:
https://soundcloud.com/danny-pez/spanner-danny-pez-1

I walk home down the road that I just learnt to ride my bike on
It's been a long day for me but my mama doesn't know where the times gone
She says its time to take you, time to take you home
Time to put your head on the pillow

I ride a bike down the road that I just learnt to burn a car on
It's been a long day for me looks like my mama hasnt left me a light on
She says what time do you call this, what time do call this eh?
I turn my head and face the other way

I drive home down the road that I've just left from picking the kids up
What's goin on I think there must've been some kind of a mix up
I say what do you want for, what do you want for tea?
They say can we eat in front of the TV?

I stay home on the road that I've all but lived out my life on
Goin too fast now I understand not knowing where times gone
I said do you like it, do you like it slow
Time to rest your head on the pillow...

Danny Mate now that i know your style, i like it, but these are just my thoughts okay.

First of all in a wide out audience out there it sound to me that your music here is a journey and your words are thoughts, to me if you could bring this song of yours together.

I like your style, best of luck to you Mate   8)

Hi Danny...nice Spanish groove to this and I really like it when the guitar and vocals are in together, but I agree with others...skip the instrumental interludes...they're just not interesting enough and far too long...this song is 5mins and I think it would be much better to shorten it and just have real short little instrumental bits...it would sound good with some conga's and a bass I think and maybe a trumpet...just a thought...good song though  :) :) CS

Hmmm, was thinking some vocals, perhaps from a different vocalist, might add to the chorus...
Overall, I'm quite pleased with the way this sounds although the vocals could be fuller
