Hey George,

It's great to hear that you have found your way back to creative writing.  Good luck with your writing and welcome!

Oh a nasty theme
I remember trying to call it a night.
I was green in 80s Manchester. (The pop charts were good!)
As a teen I was once working behind a popular bar.
"Drink up please, we're closing in 10" could get eventful.
Fish n chip shops could also become the scene of many crimes.
The English kebab evaded any accurate description.

Resonant imagery
Do you want to get a taxi?
As effective as suddenly getting pinched 🤌
The song really delivers in its promises.

I should revisit those old places
"Fatso's, Mr. Bojangles, the roxy, the vic"
It'd be a very mixed bag.

The recording/production is phenomenal!  Vocals are ultra-clear and what a groove you've created.  I'm unsure if you have an acoustic rhythm going on.   If you have it interlocks with the drum and bass effortlessly.  That's when rhythm playing is at its best.

Trouble always happened in the Kebab shop back home.  How I navigated one or two scrapes is a mystery as I cued for my Doner with "Pleny onions" in a sorry state at 02:30 in the morning.  Anyway, back to your track John.  It is fantastic!

Ha ha…I really love this…what a great song!

It reminded me of some of the best times we had here…it’s fun and infectious and it’s as groovy as fk. You’re priceless @pompeyjazz

Taxi offices were often where all the bother started after a night out…one night in Consett, our taxi arrived and my mate jumped in the front seat. I’d been chatting to someone, so I came out a few seconds later and there were three guys arguing and trying to get into the cab. My mate told them that this was our taxi and one of them shouted “do you want to get out of the taxi and make something of it, like?” My pal, who was a little anxious, shouted back “No. Do You want to get IN to the taxi and make something of it?” Which didn’t really work at all and only added to the general confusion.

I tried to calm things down with the kindly suggestion of perhaps getting their own taxi as I pushed past them and got in the back seat. The taxi driver panicked and pulled away before I’d got properly sat down, so I had one leg in and one leg out of the car, doing this comedic leg shuffle, like I was trying to push start a skateboard.

At that point, one of them kicked me in the head. Just a glancing blow, fortunately. I shouted at the driver to stop the *#*# car so I could attend to my assailants, but he was a bit spooked and keen to get away. As another kick was aimed at me, I managed to grab the door and half close it, so he didn’t half whack his shin off it as he kicked out again. I then managed to close the door and proceed with our journey. Canny night, though.

What are you using for drums nowadays, John? These sound brilliant.

A triumph!

Fabulously dark and mysterious @moraamarolaloba Your vocals reminded me of Ertha Kitt on this one. I love that sweeping drum pattern that kicks in on the second verse and the wonky voices and percussion that make an appearance. It all adds to an eerie and quite unstable feeling (In a good way) Great to hear another one from you Mora  :)

Hola @pompeyjazz
Qué bien! Thank you so much, I like a lot this one, very special feeling.
Have a nice week-end!
