This is just brilliant!

I listened to the track first and thought it was great (finally someone has written a song I can instantly relate to!  ;D) but then listening to it with the video gave it a whole new lease of life

I think TINA is spot on about using the double vocal more sparingly - ie just to accent the odd word and phrase, and the suggestion by PAULSKI for a little more reverb on the piano is a good idea to try

I just loved the vibe and feel of the song and it would sit perfectly on an album - which I can't wait to hear by the way boys!

Nice piano motif, liked the muted trumpet at 1.37. Clever words.
Agree re the doubled vocals, especially as this is in the first person.
Got a touch of Elbow & Gabriel in there somewhere..
Had to play it a couple of time, and it made me really listen and think!

Fantastic! Creative. Original.

Simple music and honest lyrics. I loved listening and the video works really well too.

I do have one single constructive observation though -

Your vocal is too relaxed. You're dropping the consonants at the end of your words.

I really like your songs and writing and am mentioning this with my producers hat on :-)

Your vocals are perfect for the style of songs you're both writing but I think this needs addressing to make the lyrical delivery even better/clearer.

I wouldn't mention it if I didn't really like your work.

Alan.

thanks everyone
we pulled back the vocal levels on habs video version and pleased we did as it does work better..
get so close to something that you lose the big picture and thats where the forum scores, so thanks all..
we havent ignored comments re the extra vocals, think the points made are valid its just that rightly or wrongly neither of us wanted to lose them..they are lower though and panned slightly better...
agree with you neil,  that comes in perfect,  paul subtly takes it up a gear ..raises the track
i hear you alan about the trailing lines, i am prone to that, all i can say is the bloke on the couch probably wouldve trailed a little as well... and dribbled
happy you could relate to it boydie ,  i know where to come for a midnight jammy dodger then eh ..
cheers all
i may not believe this tomorrow...

Quirky. Odd. Intriguing. I like the languid melody a top the sparse piano. Good stuff!!

Alan.

Bump to this. And secondly step back a little from the mic. It is SO closed miced it is a little unnerving!! Intimate is good, but this is a little too far for me!

Just re-listened with the video now too - loved it even more.  Which of us couldn't relate to that (ladies excluded of course).  What a fantastic monochrome effect!
