Thanks for the clarification and now I "get it"   :D

I can't help reviewing/critiquing songs as if they were singles or "demos", which is why I feel the song should get going as soon as possible

Now that I understand the album context it all sits much better

I would still like to hear this track as a single, starting with that first vocal line on its own before the instrumentation kicks in - I think this would sound absolutely awesome and make it very "radio friendly" as a single

nice song. fine arrangement and atmosphere, the song it self is to simple perhaps. you have a very strong chorus but thats it. just not enough for having a great song.

Great production. The sawtooth synths are a bit odd though :)
It's not exactly my type of music; Its quite wedding-bandy/barry manilow-ish.
Very drive-time radio 2 friendly. I imagine there are a lot of people that would like this.

Mixed feelings really ... great sax playing, thought the synth sound was incongruous though I'm not anti-synth. Nice voice, nice arrangement generally. The hi-hat din't bother me but hey, my top end is pretty shot from an average of four gigs a week for the last 30 years so I'm prone to pumping the top end a bit too much myself. Ultimately though, the sense of heard it all before so many times was too much for me to want to hear it again.
Youth & enthusiasm are no match for age and treachery.

Hi,
yeah, nice song, great sax playing, all a bit predictable but I get where you're coming from with the throwback to the late sixties early seventies feel. I can see Kenny Rogers singing it, all big collars & rhinestones blah blah. Could be a great video in there somewhere lol!!!
