It's been a while but Karen and I finally found the time for another collab.
More pop than rock this time but judge for yourselves.

RAINY DAYS
The last time I saw you we were dripping with rain
You leaned to kiss me before turning away
I stood in silence as I watched you go
DIdn't ask why you were leaving, I didn't want to know

Rainy Days
Stop the memories from slipping away

I look in the puddles and I see your face
Rain hits my tongue and my memories race
You said you wanted nothing, just for me to care
But in a way that was beyond me, a love I couldn't share

Rainy Days
Stop the memories from slipping away

You opened my mind and you healed my soul
I was licking my wounds and I was out of control
You stood me up straight and you showed me the way
If you hadn't fallen, we could have stayed that way

I hope that you're happy wherever you are
That you've found love now we're apart
I know we're not suited whatever you think
But I'm still glad I found you
You were my missing link

Rainy Days
Stop the memories from slipping away

Yo Johan and Karen.

From the brooding U2 flavoured intro I was drawn in. Karen's vocals hit the spot in dramatic fashion on this one. I listened to it first yesterday and the song improves with each listen.

I'm hearing Kirsty McColl flavours too.

Magic stuff,you two.  8)

Guys! This is bloody fantastic! Excellent vocal Karen, catchy as all hell chorus! Brilliant mix/production, Jams guitars are perfect, they’re somehow busy, but totally stay out of the way, which is just the mark of a great arrangement imo.

Only thing I picked up on was that from 2.30 up to the excellent vocal lead into the final chorus at 2.50ish (the bridge basically) u drop the Synth and I noticed it & for me the energy dropped a little, it was a little too stripped back (hope that makes sense) If this was my song I’d have kept it right up to “but I’m so glad I found you...” cos for me that’s a strong enough dynamic shift right there to appreciate the full ensemble when the chorus comes back in.

Listen, take it or leave it, that’s all I’ve got, it really is a fantastic track. Congrats

Leo  ;D

Catchy song, cool vocals. I hear the U2 influence other people have pointed out, but also the chorus makes me think of The Sundays a little and the start of the song reminded me of this:

Pretty cool song, I thought it ran out of steam a bit for the third verse (around 2 mins), I would've preferred to go straight into the break maybe and keep the song a little shorter as the 'missing link' section is pretty good.

Kirsty McColl meets Blondie and they move to The Corr's house and record this!

This is a very classy piece of music indeed. A very high standard throughout - wouldn't be out of place on the radio (in fact it's better than 90% of the stuff on Radio 2's playlist). I'm really struggling to find anything I would change - it's a glorious piece of work.

Great vocals and production. Love the muted guitar sound. Another brilliant song on the forum.

Hi,

Cool track - I agree the others, U2 and Paramore are back in business.
Good singing and great sound.
I think the bass is too up in the mix.

Nothing else I want to criticise, well done!

Absolutely brilliant, especially the chorus.
I wish I'd written it.

@Skub: thanks! Love working with Karen and she has thing big advantage (compared to poor Kristy) of being alive  ;)

@LostBoy: I see what you are getting at but the drop in energy was intentional. Still a valid point though, thanks for the very kind words sir! :-)

@Shandowfax: means a lot to me coming from an ace like you!

@Jamie: thanks! I was never much into U2 but love some of the Paramore stuff!

@Ramshackles: yes, I do see your point about the 3rd verse, worth considering if we ever rework it. Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment.

@montydog: Thanks Alan,  much appreciated! :-) One of our previous song got a review like "sounding like The Corrs being terrorized by The Scorpions".

@RealKevM:  Thanks you!

@refusedrevival: Thanks! You may have a point re the bass I think....

@Larsen B: Lol! Sorry we beat you to it   :D  Thanks for listening!

 Great Song guys.  ;D

Certainly got the 'familiarity' box ticked ;D A lot of memories and nostalgia
in there for me.  Especially the guitar playing.

Lovin the vox. It's the sort of voice that demands attention. Your usual high
 standard mix/production and arrangement JB.

 You have style......keep em comin ;D ;D ;D

This is great. I love your vocals. Really catchy. Reminds me a bit of Petula Clark, a very good thing. It just gets better as it goes, too. Really fab.

Really catchy tunes here especially the chorus. Maybe too superficial for me to say a tinge of Cranberries in there?
I liked the rain on the tongue image, really takes you there so that verse stands out (not that the others are bad, perhaps just not as relatable).
Great to listen to - I think this is one of my favourites as it seems to blend your styles so well.
