The Bar / Re: You Haven’t Seen The Last Of Me

Shades of The Jam @PaulAds,  Unexpected chord changes adorn this composition.  I find it very impressive that you have found the motivation to revisit the past.  The highlight for me is your bass, guitar playing and production.  I think that you are a finer songwriter today.  I've listened to your new album and it is a quality listen.  Killer couplets in abundance and melody to match!

The Elvis Nash Drama on radio stations

Good morning, Mr Elvis Nash

You talked about the PayPal link. it belongs to management cashier's they alone receive payment and to be sure if who made the deposit you will have to send a screenshot to confirm your payment deposit so an order will be given to proceed with your promotion! your payment isn't being confirm by me i don't have anything to do with that. am not on the secretary's] department that's why a screenshot is being asked so i will have to give to them to confirm and then we proceed, am all about helping talent and promoting the artist, it's your musical career we are talking about! if you think am after your money then you must be a joke cause it goes to the cashier's [ secretary's ] team all i do is you send you screenshots as prove of payment and i give to them to confirm. am on the promotion field team. i can't break the rules i will only make you understand the rules, thank you.

Feedback on Finished songs / In the Rain

When I look around and see all the good that surrounds me I feel infinite gratitude but at the same time my eyes fill with tears when I think about what happens beyond my limbo, it is a strange sensation to feel that you live in a world full of worlds apart, hostile, wild and inhuman.
I often dream that I fly over a field full of graves marked with crosses... and when I wake up I cannot forget the pain that sleeps at the bottom of everything.
This song was born at a special moment, remembering those who suffer.

Today it rains
in the field of the dead
while I walk
reading their names
reading their names
written in chalk
on crosses of blackboard

landscape that Life
planted in my soul
and that I leave behind
dancing in the rain
to feel me alive
despite the graves
despite their voices
calling me

Dancing in the rain
to feel me alive
despite the graves
despite their voices
calling me

i dance
i dance
for them for me
the fog is chasing me x4

The fog
the fog
dense cloud that does not fly
but is enough
to hide any meaning

and while I walk
I feel devoured
by the shadow of what cannot be changed
and while I walk
I feel devoured
by the shadow of what cannot be changed

Layered vocals ?, It's just some African Gospel singers from Africa . BZ Lewis the producer felt it didn't need a lot of BGVS to get in the way of me , its a bit slick and traditional collide,   thanks for listening . I just do my songs and promote some , sell cds , I think it's almost impossible to ROI in music , Maybe if your sponsored you could , AI mess will not help either .  I told the radio station to call me first , they did not , So fuck them , The radio station in England called me and we had a nice chat , But i think the other one is a scam , So nope

Great song!

I thought your vocals sounded a lot like Elvis Costello on this.

Piano timing seemed to drift a little towards the end and I wondered if the sax was a little flat here and there? Or it was perhaps just a little distant? Might just be my ears…

Some great chord changes. I wasn’t quite so keen on the bit where it changes time signature…it made me think of a bloke with a walking cane tucked under one arm high-kicking and theatrically wobbling his straw-boater in his other outstretched hand like Frankie Vaughan…but it was very well done, provides a cool change to keep interest levels up and will be many people’s favourite part, no doubt.

I read one of your other threads about maintaining interest by introducing and taking away different elements here and there and changing things around, etc…and I think although they are perfectly valid and generally sound advice, I think it sometimes can be slightly overwhelming. After listening to this, I wasn’t sure I remember much about the song, apart from the fact that it was really good and exceptionally well done.

A thoroughly excellent job though.

Beautiful lyrics and very thoughtfully done. I think the vocal is beyond criticism in something like this because of its message, honesty and integrity. It’s perfect for what you need to do…and that’s all that matters.

We weren’t quite as obviously diverse when I was a youngster…the name of the game was mostly just not to draw attention to yourself and try to avoid getting mugged for your dinner money, or your head kicked in by one of the local basket-cases for no reason whatsoever.

It broke a lot of people.

Howdy @Elvis Nash

Lovely song.

I’ve caught a few listens to your stuff and it’s universally excellent. I thought this was a slightly curious mix of old and new, in that the production gave the piano and organ a very contemporary sound and feel and the vocals seemed to be from a bygone era. Not in the sound of the recording or mixing, but just that it sounded like the singer was somewhat adrift in a shiny, modern, youthful environment.

Maybe the production and what-have-you is too slick and modern for an old-fashioned chap like myself…I don’t know…and I’m not entirely sure that I know what you’re aiming at with your music.

The lyrics are great and it’s a lovely sentiment…and it’s very well done. Those layered vocals are fascinating although I wasn’t sure whether they were necessary to elevate the song (as I ultimately decided) or whether they were a distraction (probably not)

It’s bound to have broad appeal, because it’s so well done…particularly to people whose hearts have mended, or those who think it’s possible.

Overall, I just wonder whether, as we get older, we should try to move with the times or stick to our rusty old guns…each to their own, I guess.

Excellent song, though…and I hope you don’t mind me offering my expanded thoughts on it.

So, now I feel a bit scared to release my new song into the world. After all, my voice stands pretty bare and emotional in the room. Really hope folks appreciate it.

The lyrics are about all the creative / sensitive / neurodiverse / alternative young people out there, who do not fully match the majority of their peers. It was written in response to the struggles that the teenagers of friends of mine experience at school. Their struggle reminds me of myself at that age.

Lyrics
You are not broken
You’re just perfect the way you are
It’s the way you were born

You are such a beautiful soul
Don’t let them bullies kill the light
For they are locked inside a box
And you my friend
You will break free

Set your doubt aside
Spread your wings and fly
The whole world is yours
If you’d only try
And when the time is right
You’re heading for the sky

You are more refined than most
Sensitive and unique
In your own right

The world is so wide
All the options are open
One day you will be ready
You will be free

Set your doubt aside
Spread your wings and fly
The whole world is yours
If you’d only try
And when the time is right
You’re heading for the sky

The path can be lonely
One day you’ll find your home
With those who understand
And you won’t feel broken
Within the collective of free minds
