I just wondered we had a great turn-out for last years Summer one and the Xmas songs. And I find it interesting challenge having to write to a brief.
So is there any interest is say one for the end of Sept and what ideas for a theme - I guess we could do Autumn itself?

I'm up for it.
I like Jess's Hallowe'en idea, that would give us an extra month.
Other ideas:
An anthem for a festival, be it Download, Glastonbury, Cowpat Rally, whatever.
Songs about a place - country/city, etc.
An alternative national anthem.

Damn not long uploaded a song/lyrics with the subject being about autumn, If I knew there was going to be a competition with the subject being about autumn i would have waited until then lol :)
I do like the idea of a Halloween themed competition sounds good :)

Halloween would be fun but might be a bit narrow, what about supernatural which could include all sort of things I guess?

Hi, I'm with Neil on this, I think supernatural gives a lot more scope for different ideas and variation. Mind you can you have too many songs about bats, pumpkins, ghosts and witches? ;)

But it's like 'Christmas'- the occasion is the same but there are so many different interpretations and perspectives you can look at it with.

I like the hallowe'en idea. You can write about supernatural in that genre if you want..

So is there enough interest for a Halloween supernatural competition? If there's sufficient interest lets do it? From memory we're getting over 20 submissions for last years summer and the Xmas ones..

Should I make a new thread for this so we can advertise it better? I think it would be cool if the winner was announced on Halloween and then that gives us over 2 months to get songs brainstormed, written, recorded, produced and voting done? So the closing date would be a couple weeks before whenever Halloween is. Or is that too much time? Or not enough time?

You star - love the acronym. Peppermint, Jamie and CS were interested and given its an open comp I'm sure we'll easily get lots of entries. so do go for it.
