Resources & Marketing / Anyone familiar with WOAfm99 radio?
« Last post by CaliaMoko on Today at 12:25:41 AM »
I got an invitation to provide a Christmas song to WOAfm99 radio for 2024 Christmas. It says:

This is to inform you that your song has been selected for the WOAFM99 Radio Show

To confirm your song on the show please send the 320 Kbps MP3 file of the song to radio@woarecords.com and in the subject line mention: WOAFM99 S28 - Song Name - Artist Name - MXRAY

Please Note: If your song is a holiday/christmas song please use the following subject line instead: WOAFM99 XMAS24 - Song Name - Artist Name - MXRAY
The radio team will be in touch with you once your song is scheduled for an upcoming episode.

Thank you, Portia

I'm wondering if it's a good idea or if I should just ignore it. I had forgotten I had songs listed with musicxray.com until today when I got this.

If this is your first recording then the future looks very bright for you. To be honest, it's not a genre I listen to by choice, but this is really well crafted. Your producer has done an excellent job here. Great stuff :)

This is very post-Beatles. Double Fantasy springs to mind..also some of Maca's early solo material. This is fabulous, a great arrangement. I like the fact that it isn't over-produced. A lovely song my friend. :)

I just reviewed this on the other page but, again, a fabulous song and that Hammond gives me goosebumps! You're prolific and I'm enjoying every minute of it. :)

You are absolutely right @moraamarolaloba The spring does seem to bring back memories and aromas of previous years. I’m not sure that you would like the aroma of the sea near to me recently after the amount of detritus that has been deposited into the Ocean. This one is really atmospheric. The spoken word works very well and I love that bass drum like a heartbeat. Always original and different you are Mora 😀

Blimey Vicki @CaliaMoko What an up and down few months you have had. Hopefully you’ll be back on an even keel real soon. Congratulations on the nuptials and always good to hear from you 😀

I don't know if it happens to you too but Spring brings me aromas from other years, maybe it's the smells carried by the wind... sometimes it smells like the sea, and I live very far from its blue, sometimes like grass. fresh, to flowers full of water, to earth that awakens, to life as always... And it is with that breath that I have made this song-spokenword-mora style hahaha
I gave it a very simple instrumentation moving around the rhythm and the story, I think it has an interesting sound. In the final instrumental part I let my hair down and... this is the result

Hi Vicki @CaliaMoko   :)

There’s never a dull moment where you are…what a story you’ve cooked up over the years!

Really happy to hear that the wedding went well…despite the sling…you all look so happy ❤️

Congratulations!

And Yes! A book would be quite something.

Paul x

To those of you who remember me (I see a lot of new names in the posts). Well, I've been busy, shall we say? I haven't been here since sometime in March. There were four pages of unread posts! I couldn't manage it. I cleared them and will have to start from scratch. And why have I not been here? Oh, man! Here's a summary.

I was scheduled for a reconstruction revision on March 22 (I had breast cancer followed by a bilateral mastectomy and reconstruction back in 2014). The procedure went perfectly with great results. Then on April 8, I tripped over something I should NEVER have left lying on the floor and was told so by two people, one of whom had also tripped on it previously, so I have no excuse!!... I hit the floor hard, broke my left shoulder (I am left-handed) and ripped out all the stitches on my left side. I've been in and out of the emergency room and had a few visits to the plastic surgeon. I am mending but it is slow. I can't play guitar. I've had to write, eat, and type with my right hand. Grueling! And the implant on the left side had to come out, so I am now lopsided.

I have to wear a sling for a minimum of two more weeks, but I've been able to start using my left hand the past few days. Eating, writing, and typing. Most of the time.

My wedding was great. Other than my having to wear a sling, that is.

I was going to write a song a week this year. That lasted 11 weeks. After my accident, I slept a lot. I have more energy now but haven't started writing again yet.
