Country: England
County: Kent

Been playing guitar for over 25years (boy are my fingers tired!) and been in bands for most of this time

I have been lucky enough to play in support bands for Eric Clapton, Pete Townsend, Ringo Starr, Joe Walsh, Gary Brooker, and Andy Fairweather Low

I no longer have a desire to be a "rock star" due to family commitments so I am now trying to take my sonwriting more seriously and I would like to get a song "taken up" to be recorded / released by someone else...

I am a Glasgow boy but moved to Stirling 10 years ago

My house sits on the battle of bannockburn site and Stirling also has a castle, old cobbled streets and a phallic shaped monument in honour of William Wallace - Freeeeeeeeeedom :)

3 of my Grandparents were Irish - McCafferty , Carroll & Connolly but I have absolutely no idea where my second name Cruse originates from  :o

Currently seen loitering in rural Somerset near Yeovil, I'm from Plymouth originally, but in the last 15 years have lived in Exeter, Taunton, Bournemouth, London and a few other places...

A bit of a drifter by all accounts, music and songwriting have been the only truly consistent things in my life.

I love dogs, and my wife and I have 4 of them at the moment (she runs a small grass-roots dog rescue) and I've lately earned the nickname 4 dogs Tony on the local music scene :D

Been playing the same guitar for the last 19 and a half years, and studying the same writers pretty much. Sometimes I think I'm going to disappear into a Neil Finn-shaped wormhole and never return.

I'd be interested to know what songwriters inspired you to begin writing, and whose songs you study to further your craftsmanship. My top 3: Neil Finn, Paul Simon, Rufus Wainwright. Your turn :)

From Newton-le-Willows in the North West. Pretty much half-way between Liverpool and Manchester.
Went living in The Hague in The Netherlands for about 7 1/2 years. Am now back in England in St Helens which is only a few
miles from where I lived originally... wishing I was back in The Hague  :)
There are holes in the sky where the rain gets in  , but they're ever so small, that's why rain is thin.

This forum is funny; many other forums live off the fact that everyone is anonymous. Here we seek each other out, its great!

I'm from York originally  :D. But up here we don't view ourselves as scum, but you awful southerners :P. I came to Denmark a little while ago for studying. I've stayed a bit longer to study a bit more and work in a studio.
I'm going back to the UK in the summer, for...who knows how long :)

Songwriters that inspired me to start writing?
- My dad...I didnt really listen to anything but classical music (how sad is that :D - because of piano lessons) before starting to write....
But those that I study a lot:
Brian Wilson, Rufus Wainwright (but really only the stunning Want albums and some songs of his first and second records), Chopin,  many others...

Naaaah...too easy

...just like an Essex girl!  :D :P

Me? Little market town called Retford, literally half way between Sheffield and Lincoln, or as I like to think of it, the middle of nowhere.

There's nothing here but Jack and Shit. And Jack left town (cheers Bruce!)

It's the periodic table of elements isn't it? Lead = Heavy Metal?
