So this is about the civilians in the middle east being killed by US drone strikes. It isn't really just applicable to the middle east, but anywhere that mechanical, robotic, detached instruments of killing are used. It's easiest to kill when you're completely detached from the victims. And many of the tools of war developed in recent years do exactly that. Empathy and emotions, identifying with victims and humanizing the suffering often causes people to protest and be outraged which tends to interfere with both domestic and foreign policy.
If it worked, which parts helped you identify with the story? Which parts detracted or did nothing to create empathy? Does the chorus make sense or does it sound weird/lame? In addition to the regular criticisms if you have the time to answer these kinds of questions I would really appreciate it. Thanks!
Until at Last(Freedom)
Verse
Spend my days in the sun
Working hard
Spend the nights with my love
In my arms
Say goodnight to my kids
Kiss them twice
Wonder what I ever did
To have them in
My life
Interlude
Verse 2
Wasn't long ago
That you came
Wasn't far from my home
Fell the rain
Lost my oldest friend
In the blast
Watched him writhe in pain
Until at last
Freedom
Chorus
Freedom, Freedom, Freedom
Until at last
Freedom, Freedom, Freedom
Until at last
Freedom
Verse 3
We're the sacrifice
You volunteer
Whats the cost of a life
When you're nowhere near
Told the world that you came
To free us all
But the gift that you gave
Was freedom from
This life
Chorus
Freedom, Freedom, Freedom
Until at last
Freedom, Freedom, Freedom
Until at last
Bridge
As I lay my body down
I life my head to the sky
I say a prayer, if you're up there
If I'm some where in your sights
Hear me
Chorus
Freedom, Freedom, Drone
If you rain down on me
Freedom, Freedom, Drone
Won't you please make it quick
Freedom, Freedom Drone
Somewhere up in the black
Freedom, Freedom Drone
Won't you please make
Won't you please make
Won't you please make it quick
