This is an aggressive little number about today's society and social media

I come up with a few lyrics and pomey John did all the hard work and turned into an aggressive panky type song , which I think he enjoyed doing

I think Pompey had to change the lyrics slightly for it to fit the lyrics in

https://m.soundcloud.com/pompeyjazz/i-wanna-go-on-facebook

I wanna go on Facebook

Would you like to come for a walk dear

I wanna go on Facebook - Facebook , Facebook
I wanna see whose being bullied - bullied , bullied
I wanna look at dog shit - dog shit , dog shit
Why do I wanna go outside when the sun shines brightly ?

Stuck in a world of computer screens
I like it more , the more obscene
I wanna go on Facebook , - Facebook, Facebook
I wanna look at dog shit - dog shit , dog shit

Don't be like that my - little angel

I wanna play my Xbox ,- X-box , X-box
I wanna go on Facebook , Facebook , Facebook
I wanna look at dog shit , dog shit , dog shit
Why should I look at boring flowers ?

(Laughing) Arrhh - isn't he so cute

I wanna go on Facebook, - Facebook , Facebook
I wanna watch porn on- the Internet
I wanna watch porn on -the Internet
I wanna watch porn on -the Internet

I wanna go on Facebook, - Facebook , Facebook

(Fades )
I wanna grow old before my time
I wanna grow old before my time
I wanna grow old before my time
I wanna grow old before my time

Katie,

It's so great to hear your words becoming songs. This one is fantastic! PJ outdid himself.

Haha, now it's stuck in my head and I'm going to be singing about dog shit all day in the hospital tomorrow. That will be so wrong.

Totally awesome song. Lyrics are top drawer and the music is as infectious as he'll. Great rocking delivery and very timely. Only crit is that it ends a bit suddenly. This actually a song that might suit a fade out with a suggested infinite refrain of "Facebook Facebook"

Hi,
I loved it!
The dog shit line was not only funny but absolutely true! I'm not on facebook because to me it is a pile of dog shit.:)
All that place is for is to collect data on what you buy, think etc then selling that information on so they can then spam your inbox to try and sell you more crap that you don't need.
Great stuff.
Well done you two!

Johnny :)

Katie's lyrics just screamed "aggression" so hopefully the music reflect that.

The link has been amended as I've put the track public

Hi John,
Thanks for the new link i've added it to my faves. :)
I would seriously dig deep and get as many words as possible that relate to facebook because i reckon that as good as the lyrics already are that you could get even stronger lyrics on this subject which can only add to what is a great song. imo. :)

I had lyric lines popping into my head from all angles listening to this one.

eg: So if you wanna be brain dead go on facebook on facebook
and if you've got no friends got no friends get on facebook on facebook
so your on facebook on facebook
then you can be on jeremy kyle cos they talk about this shithole place on there.
:)

Johnny :)

Took a listen, so nice to hear Katies lyric.

I read the lyric before listening to the song, and I was surprised, I wanted Punk, Punk Punk!!!! I could just imagine the Pistols nailing this.  a bit faster and that gorgeous thick guitar sound, that's the only thing, it might even be a hit.

Yeah seriously guys this song is the best I've heard on the forum for some time. It's a few tweaks away from being a world beater.

Really effective punky arrangement and a really passionately delivered vocal.
Musically I really like it. Sounds pretty live, which is impressive.

I have a bone to pick lyrically though. I may be the punk style but it feels a bit too direct. Just saying "I wanna do these things" and they are bad. I feel the best songs come at this stuff sideways on.
Like Bob Dylan does on "With God On Our Side", spearing organised religion, war and prejudice.
I would love to hear a song on this subject which hit at modern technology and social media subtly, telling a story with a character you can believe in and how the social media and tech has turned them bad/sad.
Maybe I should have a go at that myself. I know it ain't easy!

Anyway, that is just a bee in my bonnet!

I think it's a real stonking tune.

Pretty venomous stuff...a vicious commentary on how many folks seem to have lost the plot...a visceral musical ice bucket challenge.

Hi pompey and Katie

Boooom, the track has attitude. Loved the guitar and punk vocal style.
The content of the vocal was spot on, I think most will agree.

Great lyrics Katie and well done Pompey, delivered the goods.
Cheers
Andy

Well that was straight down the line!
About as snarly John-Lydonesque as I've ever heard you Pomps.
I liked the electronic touches in it too.
Maybe a bit too much dog poo in the lyrics for me (Facebook and the internet aren't completely bad, eh?) but there's no mistaking the sentiment behind the lyrics.
It's all too beautiful.
