Hi, paternal relative to Yoda, yes it is my studio, and I've added to my guitar selection since then! I've added a Fender jazz bass, nice! The walls and floor are all solid so any management of reflected sound is done via the filter, which to my ear works reasonable well, have a listen and let me know what you think! I have some furniture and a rug in there but no carpet. The techy gurus on the site haven't had me selected for capital punishment yet!
Cheers
And thanks for the last JD too! Have one on me!

Oops, the juke box has stopped. ........

Puts coin in slot and selects Thom Yorke by Radiohead, that should keep it going for a while. Now, where did I put my drink???

I would say a wooden floor would be fine

Your biggest issues for room acoustics will be direct reflections from walls - ie side walls first and then rear walls

Careful speaker placement and some acoustic treatment on these key points will help with highs and mids

You could then consider an approach to deal with bass - eg bass traps and dealing with "corners"

These will all make a much more important impact than the flooring

This is a pretty straight forward guide: https://www.soundonsound.com/sos/feb06/articles/studiosos.htm

Now, that is too much sense - where is my drink

Thanks Jamie and thanks Boydie.

All I've got to do now is find some money and convince Yodasmom that we don't need to knock through into the room to extend the kitchen (we really do ;))

Better still, I'll just get it done when she's out and claim it as mine :D
