I wrote this song while I was sitting in my doctor's waiting room. Enjoy!

Follow me down the rabbit hole
We're slipping and falling and losing control
We're tumbling and fumbling throughout the blackness
Don't look away as we retreat to madness

I'm staring at myself in a broken mirror
Pills have no effect, madness is drawing near
The voices in my head scream at me in fear
Won't someone please take me away from here?

Follow me down the rabbit hole
We're slipping and falling and losing control
We're tumbling and fumbling throughout the blackness
Don't look away as we retreat to madness

I'm following a rabbit but it's name is god
He speaks in my head and I know I've been called
To be his prophet and spread his word to all
The world will know his wrath and law

Follow me down the rabbit hole
We're slipping and falling and losing control
We're tumbling and fumbling throughout the blackness
Don't look away as we retreat to madness

Oh god please take me away
From the madness you create
Won't you deliver me from this fate?
Oh god why won't you take me away?

Follow me down the rabbit hole
We're slipping and falling and losing control
We're tumbling and fumbling throughout the blackness
Don't look away as we retreat to madness

I'm not insane...
I'm not... Insane...
I'm not fucking insane!!
Oh god, please take me away

The song is about a man who goes insane and begins hearing what he believes to be the voice of god in his head. It alludes to him creating chaos, and I think I may write a follow-up song about the destruction that results from his deluded beliefs. I used the Alice In Wonderland reference because it's a cute little reference and is oftenly associated with being crazy. If you have any comments, please let me know!

I enjoyed it.

The second verse (fourth part) reminded me a little of my own "God of the ants":

I'm the God of tiny creatures
I decide 'bout life and death
I appoint their tiny preachers
they pray to me when goin' to bed

I'm the loving God
I'm the caring God
I'm the avenging God of the ants

I'm the Lord of ants and beetles
I'm the one they fear and praise
unbelieving can proove lethal
better that no doubts be raised

I'm the loving God
I'm the caring God
I'm the avenging God of the ants

I'm their fate and I'm their master
a single step can cause disaster
the blasphemous die much faster

I'm the loving God
I'm the caring God
I'm the avenging God of the ants

There's no-one going insane in my little text, and there is no hidden moral or message, just the God speaking for himself. Well, the God of the ants, of course ;-)

Have fun!

Hi
Looks like a great lyric for a song. A few minor observations:
It would be nice if "retreat to madness" rhymed better with "throughout the blackness"
It's close, but that's a great chorus - and a better rhyme with all sylables would round it out nicely.
I must admit, I got a little confused - he's following a rabbit whose name is God, but then he asks God to take him away - isn't that happening already? Or maybe I'm crazy...
The (bridge?) as the end is really good IMO.
Best
Paul

Really good song. Some great lines throughout. It's a great theme to write about. Very interesting altogether and I really enjoyed reading this.

Those rhymes are genius.
I love it.
I really want to hear the finished product. Possibly now. :)
I write songs about geek culture, fandoms, life, love, people, etc.
Hopefully you can relate :)
