omg I thought this would be easy ....but then I thought if I just pick the 5 I like best is that the right way to judge the 5 best songs?....so... I took each song & played it till I couldnt stand it no longer & the ones that lasted the longest made it into my top 5.....now that is science i think :)
so here they are pick your 3 favourites from my list & pm me with your 1st 2nd & 3rd please :)
Long drive home - Paulski & Binladeda
&feature=youtu.be
Roulette in the Rain - Delboy
Typical - Tom Boswell
https://soundcloud.com/t-j-boswell/typical
Home sweet home - Viva la Stereo
https://soundcloud.com/vivalastereo/home-sweet-home
What Makes You keep on pushing - Movin Flavour
https://soundcloud.com/sandeep-issar/what-makes-you-keep-on-pushing-dance-mix
one person hasnt got the right number of posts but im going to ignore that as there were so few songs this month...
im sorry if you are disapointed your song is not there ...but you cant argue with science :)

-
oh good ive got some votes in,...but ive just realised i dont know how to score this!
is it like 3 points for no.1
2 points for no.2
1 point for no.3
or do i make up my own way? ;D that would be interesting with my head
-
Hi, yes when I did it last it was 3 for 1st, 2 for 2nd 1 for third.
Cheers
Jamie
-
thanks jamie! im tempted to make up my own way tho ;D
im influenced by wimbledon at the moment...games & sets & tie breaks etc
-
OMG....thats two weeks in a row
I'm in the final. Must be doing
something right ;D ;D
Thanks for choosing our song Tina.
You have great taste ;D ;D
Gonna listen and vote.....good luck all
-
Great selection Tina! I will get listening!

I don't want to stir the pot, but personally, I think the rules are there for a reason, and if
someone hasn't got the right # of posts, their song shouldn't even be considered :o
Sorry to bitch, but I think we need to have a discussion...on another thread, as to whether to have any rules, and if so, everyone should be aware of them, and follow them :o :o
Just my 2cents, for what it's worth ;D ;D
-
I think all songs equal on deuce should have to endure a penalty shootout. Maybe :)

Live YouTube vid?

Personally, I think the rules are there for a reason, and if someone hasn't got the right # of posts,
their song shouldn't even be considered :o There were other songs, mine included...not that I think it should have been in the final picks ::)
Sorry to be a little disturbed about this, but people will be, science or not, if we don't follow the rules :o :o
Apparently I broke the rules last month as well but to be fair, I didn´t know them. I think the criteria for entry should be if someone is an established forumite, and maybe there could be other rules for that. However, I think it should be another thread.
-
You're absolutely right Martyn...this should be another thread, because I don't want it to sound
like I'm bitching about Tina's choices...it's a difficult job ::)
I just think we need to establish one way or another, if we're going to follow the rules or not :o
Then there will be no problems :) :)
-
Voted ;D ;D
All great songs guys.
Good luck..
-
im sorry if ive broken the rules
I used to be too hung up on the rules of this forum & left here 3 times in a huff over people ignoring forum rules & abusing the hospitality here..
so im trying to be more tolerant this time around & use the rules as a guideline as I think most people do
I would not choose a SOTM song by a flyby poster or attention seeker who has got his songs on lots of forums & doesnt join in here ….(like martyn did last month bcos he didnt know)..& thats what the rule is about isnt it?
I checked out the guy whos song is the problem before I chose his song & hes not on other forums ...he only posts here ..he reviews my songs...so this is plainly his forum & I wanted to encourage him to join in more as I love his songs
so as im running the competition & have a bit more say than normal I decided it would be ok?
I hope this doesnt mean ive got to abandon my thrilling new scoring system ive been working on the past few days ;D
-
It's a tricky job Tina, and you've got my full support. :)
There is no point in the competition if it doesn't support the forum community I think, and I guess the rules are intended to do that. I liked the notion that you need to have voted in the competion to qualify as the winner. Maybe if we had a longer shortlist and potential winners had to listen to, comment on and vote to qualify it encourages people to be active in the forum.
Just a suggestion for discussion. Maybe we need a whole new section of the forum for rules and regulations (only joking :P)
-
Absolutely Tina, it's your competition. The choices are great so there's no problem there. Personally I think we may all get uppity about it because we know it's probably our only chance at musical success ;D ;D ;D
-
I liked the notion that you need to have voted in the competion to qualify as the winner.
yes tom that is a good idea that you have to vote in a competition to take part in it!
I did a christmas competition here some years ago & we had like 30 entries I think!
i decided I would have that rule & it gave me wonderful pleasure to publicly kick out all the songs by people who couldnt be bothered to vote & expose them to the community! ;D
...but im not evil like that anymore ;D
-
Voted,
some very worthy tunes.

The Moving Mouse clicks;

Thanks for the nomination!
Some good tunes to be heard for sure.
I have duly voted and encourage others to do so forthwith ;D.

-
When are the results out?
-
martyn i was going to announce the winners on the 15th as its the middle of the month... but i was just guessing thats the way its done?
16 people have voted & ive only had one in the last few days so im guessing thats about it
-
I don't know, I made my own rules up. You may get some more in yet.
-
