Remember what we used to say
When we heard the bell and went out to play?
That we would learn to juggle plates
Promises made at the age of eight
All the cakes that we would make
And all the rules we vowed to break
Those were the things we used to say
But now we're grown and we have to pay

We ran into the morning sun
You thought you were the chosen one
All the friends you thought you had
You made them cry, you made them sad
I'm the only one that stayed
And this is how I am repaid?
I've had to live my life in shame

Remember the songs we used to sing?
Joined in a ring, the joy they'd bring
The songs about becoming a king
But now all they do is sting
The way that we would hide in the shed
Until the people were gone and it was time for bed
The things we said before we wed
But all I have left is a bruise to the head

I began to think that I was free
And God laughed at my naivety
And when I finally saw the light
I cried and cried, it was such a sight
I was treated like a hopeless fool
Who knew that kids could be so cruel?
You made me feel so uncool

I tried so hard to be the same
To look like the picture in your pretty frame
But even after all the shame
You're only interested in the playground games

Remember what we used to say
When we heard the bell and went out to play?
That we would learn to juggle plates
Promises made at the age of eight
Twenty years have passed and I have seen
Your flirty encounters, you are so keen
Now I've left and you're still juvenile
I'll let all the others fall for your smile

You're still out playing truth or dare
I don't need your evil glare
I'll prove to you that I can live
A life where I won't ever forgive
I hope that you enjoy the fame
That comes with having all those flames
I'll leave you to your playground games

I looked at the world I thought we'd found
A world full of colour, wildlife and sounds
Now our world is broken and browned
I wish we were still on the playground

Hi, can I get some feedback please? Need to know because me and my friend might be making the music to this and we need to know if it sounds okay.

everyones work is out there, so nobody wants to say anything bad, not having heard the music. The rhyming is a little forced, but in the context of a song could work well. As a poem, sorry, but thats just me. and I am nowhere near a perfect writer or anything. Just telling what I see. Please feel free to comment on my stuff
