Hi

Working on this song, but feel that I have heard the chorus melody somewhere before. What do you think, is it worth to keep working on the song?

I haven’t listened yet…but this often happens to me.

Ignore it and write your song…then record it and sing it like it’s brand new…which it is.

If it was a massive hit and somebody sued you for every penny you made from it…think of all the publicity…and what would you have lost?

Nowt…that’s what.

And that’s the worst-case-scenario.

Most likely, it won’t be anything of an issue to anyone but yourself.

Carry on, I say…

The chorus maybe has a vague air of ‘Stairway To Heaven’ about it in the descent.  But not so much that I’d worry about it too much.

In any case, you can only be sued if you’ve caused arguable losses. And I can’t see Led Zeppelin coming after you somehow.  :)

I probably wouldn’t have noticed either if not prompted to have a puzzle. And you might entirely disagree with my comparison anyway.  ;)
My latest novel: pls check it out!

‘Gavin & The Bodysnatchers’, a quirky comedy crime thriller. Easily found on Amazon.

I'd agree with @PaulAds in general. I doubt there's a melody in the world that would be truly unique without a similarity to something done before, or again for that matter. Make it yours and it's job done. As for the song it's definitely got some good vibes going: have fun with it.  :)

I can hear a variety of songs in here, but it's only for a few notes and definitely not a copy. e.g. "there's no time for grieving" is bit like Nights In White Satin. But then it moves off and does its thing.

Nice song. For me the chorus melody is not a clear match to anything I ve heard before. Most pop songs have some similarities with other song but this one didnt strike me as copying anything

"Its a pretty song" Unless your a major player...  I doubt if it sounded like a few major player melodies they would bother you " Great vocals man"
Good luck
