@Rightly - Man oh man - the Telecaster headstock for me was the mark of the devil for so many years, it was Strat all the way, I imagined myself flying through the stratosphere on one. Then I got a Squier '50's Classic vibe tele and everything changed...one of my favourites to play....keep looking at that headstock though...(Someone tell me I'm not the only person that hated the tele headstock with a passion)
I agree about the back of acoustics, does have a hidden quality about it...to me other areas are the binding of a Yamaha SG 1000 around the 'horns', the cut out where the nut goes of my Burguet Classical; it's so precise that the nut can move freely but only just, the Gibson headstock (a timeless classic ), the ends of my drum sticks, as a guitarist I can figure out why they are so important, but they look nice, oh yes the red knurled knobs on my Yamaha kit, the ones that detune them 'on the fly' I always wondered what they did, and why Roland didn't have them...If I think of any more...
Yip, I'm one strange musician.
