Hi, agree with the previous comments about the stones vibe. Works well as it is but could be a bigger arrangement. Enjoyed it!
Cheers

This is nice!

Cool picking and i think the laid-back feel is helped by the simple production.

Yes...very nice!

I actually love the simplicity of this, Martin, and I don't think a full band would improve it much. I think you've done a great job of filling musically where needed.

It's definitely plaintive and wistful - quite evocative.

I note the Stones comparisons and they're certainly there - but I think there's a lot of Hollies too.

Great stuff.

cheers,
L

Hello Martin,

I'd consider adjusting the acoustic guitar volume which  currently takes centre stage almost above the vocal.
I think it's essential that you add more instrumentation to maintain interest throughout. New contrasting sections would provide a great lift.  There are some powerful lyrical ideas  'The day was dark with nothing moving' and also others that I don't follow 'Numerous of voices I got to give in'. The guitar solo provides a welcome direction. I would halve it's duration and again at the end for greater impact and purpose.

I'd love to hear a full production. Especially to discover what you do with effects and instrumentation to create atmosphere.

I think there is great sincerity in the lyrics.  and that this could be so much more though currently, it is very much a sketch.

Hi Martin,

I echo whats been said, as a complete song, its nice and takes you on a bit of a journey.

Like most peeps said, Has all the makings of a nice productions.

Oh, and nice GTR work,

I dont want to dis your vox as I am not as good, but you could try and get a little closer to the mic as it sounds a bit roomy.
Get up in the grill and sing soflty, that emotion will spill out. add the proximity effect of your mic, Boom, sweet Vocal.

really nice work here.

Cheers
Andy

Hi!

LAquila: Thanks for your input! When I wrote this I had
no intention of aiming for a sixties sound but I guess
great music kind of rubs off.

Wicked Deeds: I appreciate your sincere input. The arrangement
I've made for this song is about as much as I can do by my self.
I guess I could learn to program drums but that's about it.
I agree that a more ambitious instrumentation could do a lot
in applying a more dynamic structure to the song. I'm currently
in the process of building a repertoire of songs. Either for performing
alone or as a basis for rehearsing with a band.
In a way I think I want to make songs that work with just vocals and
guitar but that demands a whole lot. Also it limits the number of
potential listeners.

Personally I think 'Numerous of voices...'
makes sense. It implies an insane state of mind, hearing voices,
and that someone can soothe that kind of pain. In general
referring to that love is madness.

Thank you all for your input!

Martin

Hi Martin,

I can programme drums but  it's my least favourite task. If you would like a drum track, I'd be happy to import your vocal and guitar into logic x and use the virtual drummer which is brilliant.  I'd have to make one or two minor adjustments to the virtual drum track to give you a pretty decent stereo drum track for you to process the way that you think would best suit your track.

The offer is on the table and I'd happy to help should you want to go down that route.

cheers

Hi!

Thank you Paul for your kind offer! I'll consider it but currently
I feel motivated to start learning to do drums myself.

Thanks mickyplankton!
