'You're All Music' is a song I started writing a few days back. I was inspired by musical friends, who played for me with absolute joy in the summertime.

Here's a recording I made to give you an idea of what the song sounds like.

https://w.soundcloud.com/player/?url=https%3A//api.soundcloud.com/tracks/123823138%3Fsecret_token%3Ds-kLGhK&color=ff6600&auto_play=true&show_artwork=true

Feedback I'm looking for:
- Does the song make sense to you? - Does it seem finished?
- Is there anything I could/should look at rewording to get the message out to the listener?
- People writing a few words about the quality of the lyrics and which meaning they derive from the lyrics.
- Can you derive 2 meanings from these lyrics? One is of course about music. Could you tell me what you believe the other topic to be (so I know that I'm being clear)?

Song structure:
Intro
a1: Tribute to the act of singing, using the voice and the narrative.
b1: The appreciation/also a tribute to/for the fact that some people truly embrace the spirit of art - in this case music.
a2: Tribute to the use of instruments and musical parameters.
b2: b1
a3: The perspective of the listener.
b3: b1
c: I didn't want to spoil the moment, so I froze, listened and took in the music.
b4: b1
Outro

You're All Music

It's in the way your vocal folds vibrate
- And then your lips add fine taste.
The narrative is the voice of you
- The exposed in noted syllables.

You’re all music! I've known it since the day we met!
You're all music! I hear you are the best of it!

It's in the way you make strings resonate
– And the sense of tension and release.
The touching impact of harmony,
- The qualities of a fine piece.

You’re all music! I've known it since the day we met!
You're all music! I hear you are the best of it!

It's in the way that it is perceived
- And some of its priceless properties.
The tingling sensation moving down your back
- The impression of contact.

You’re all music! I've known it since the day we met!
You're all music! I hear you are the best of it!

I kept my mouth shut; did not want to speak!
My body is in peace; relaxed, attentive and pleased! Yeah -

You’re all music! I've known it since the day we met!
You're all music! I hear you are the best of it!

I like the lyric, and I like the guitar accompaniment.  I'm not sure they fit together really well.  One thing that would help your song is to turn up the track with the guitar on it so it is more prominent.

Not sure how you are recording it... (can you turn down one track and turn up the volume on the other?)  but if you can make the accompaniment a fuller, more prominent part of the song, I think it would make it all work better.

Nice lyrical idea, and I think you're on the right track with the accompaniment.  My suspicion is that the vocal treatment could be a little more varied and that would add a lot of interest and drama.

But first thing is get the accompaniment turned up a little.  I just can't tell with the vocal being so much more prominent than the accompaniment.

On a separate note:   Please see my post on the November lyric of the month and participate by voting for one of the song lyrics nominated.

Thank you in advance.  Verlon Gates (HardTwistMusic)

Thanks for you feedback - I'll check out November lyric of the month.

I'm not going to use this sketch for anything. It's one track with guitar and vocals on the same mic in a noisy room. When I intend to make the actual mix I will have separate tracks for guitar and vocals + dubs.
I'm not sure whether it only should be guitar though.
