Slaughter of babes, who is to blame

Killing after killing still nothing is learn
Anger arise take your revenge
Law won't control refuse to change
Slaughter of babes, who is to blame

Chorus
Speak now your words hear how mighty they sound
I'll give you my gun when you pry it from my cold, dead hands
Now anger arise, take your revenge
Slaughter of babes, who is to blame

Lay to rest I watch from the crowd
Sadness in the air anger everywhere
Who is next, mine or yours
Slaughter of babes, who is to blame

Chorus
Speak now your words hear how mighty they sound
I'll give you my gun when you pry it from my cold, dead hands
Now anger arise, take your revenge
Slaughter of babes, who is to blame

I'm not sure how I feel about this on a personal level. It is so dark, but it reflects a reality in our world and I get a strong sense of frustration from it. I hear this as a loud, hard rock piece with lots of screaming and banging. The chorus seems a little long, especially with the one long line it it, but I think it's possible to find a way to make it work.

Powerful stuff Pat. I don't see anything that needs changing.
But I can hear this as one of your spoken word songs too - just need a backing track IMO
This hits the nail on its head.
