Hey guys!

I got myself a new guitar today, I've been looking for months and been trying diffirent types but today I made the decision...  This one it is..

A Martin DRS1

It has a really warm and thick sound. Live I'm playing with a drummer and a girl who playes violin so needed a guitar with a lot of low. It sounds amazing!

I love Martins! Great guitar there. I love the feel, sound, and the untreated non-varnished wood look they usually go for.

I tried that exact model out, but went with the DX-1. For me it was more balanced across the spectrum for a fingerpicker. You are right, that baby has lots of bass for a regular acoustic so you have chosen well for your needs. You'll be very happy together I am sure  ;D

Haha, tinam don't ruin my moment of happiness!  :'(
But yeah, the case is nice  :D

@James
Yes I tried that model too. It played a lot lighter then the DRS1 which made it difficult to choose but I went for the thick sound. Now I'm playing 010 (with my old guitar) so I have to get used to the 012 now. Martin's are so cool!

They are similar feeling but different sounding beasts

In an ideal world I would have both! Both I went with the one that suited my style of playing :)

Another big Martin fan here so you made an excellent choice!

After playing every guitar in the shop I went for an OMC 16RE Aura, which fitted my needs perfectly   ;D

If you are going from an electric to an acoustic I highly recommend that you check out the DR Sunbeam strings

These are wound on a round core (rather than the normal hex core for acoustic strings) which makes them a little easier to play (especially string bending) WITHOUT compromising tone

I tried loads of different types when I first got my acoustic and I now don't use anything else!

I also recommend using "stringbusters" for buying strings - great service, excellent pricing and quick delivery!!!

Thanks for your advice! I think I'll maybe change them to 011 first, if I Loose too much tone I'll keep practicing on 012's.

It's great getting a new guitar , gets you right back into it if you've been losing interest at all.
that guitar looks real nice ,all mahogany body ? looks nice anyways . some mahogany guitars look like they've been made from an old coffee table. have fun with it  ;D

i realy dont know why guitars are so expensive
surely all you have to do is get a big piece of wood & just cut away evrything that doesnt look like a guitar
ok with one of these you have to hollow out the inside aswell
Tell me Im wonderful & I ll be nice to you :)

Yesterday I bought some DR Dragon Skin strings and I absolutely love them. They have a nice coating and are a lot lighter, though they are 012's.

Thanks for the advice man, really helped me out!
